RE: New Jose Luis Monton videos. (in reply to HolyEvil)
his latest CD was published 2012 by ECM. aweful bad sound. That ecm-ish ambiences don't go with a modern flamenco guitar sound... even his toque on that CD sounds somewhat nordic and contemplative. However as long as he does'nt cite J.S.Bach he is not bad at all

I love JL Monton but I hate the way they EQ/reverbed the videos above.

C'mon, I think he is one of the most musical flamenco musicians around. I guess his style is not everyone's taste though (and I haven't heard his latest CD yet).
But his sensitivity, especially in accompaniment, is second to none.

There are'nt too many examples that come to my mind when I think of him as accompanist, but I definately like what he did on Mayte Martin's "Querencia"
My comment above is in relation to the first video, where I assumed in his favor that he cites Bach and not just Procol Harum.

On Querencia he played only on the last track (together with Juan Ramon Caro). Don´t know why everyone think that he played on this album... it was Caro.

According to the credits on the album José Luis co-wrote Intentalo Encontrar with Mayte Martin as well as playing on it with Caro.
He also played on Ten Cuidao with Caro.
And Caro didn't play on all the other tracks, he is credited with four other tracks, and Juan Carlos Romero credited with playing two more tracks (one track remaining has no guitar).
