I find Tomatito's guitar sounds very raw but he always records with a very polished sounding band. They sound overproduced. So, I really enjoy Tomatito but I'm not always into his recordings. That being said, I really like what I've heard of this one. I will probably get it when it is available in Canada.

they might not actually have had it at all
Ah, thanks for the link, interesting. I've ordered from flamenco-world.com a few times in the past and never had any trouble, but that certainly makes me wary.
Regarding Tomatito's CD: thanks for pointers to MP3s, but I only buy CDs, vinyl or hi-res on principle. Perhaps this album never actually came out on CD?? Does anyone actually have a copy?
RE: New Tomatito CD out soon (in reply to Thomas K)
here in Spain the CD will be released by Mid April. That is what I was told in several shops (inluding FNAC). So I think in other countries it will be similar...
I am digging the album! It feels like a natural progression from where he left in Aguadulce, very modern, very fresh but still with a raw flamenco soul...
Current favourites are "Soy Flamenco" - absolutely perfect, "El Regalo" - loving the fury and attack of the vocal & "Mister Benson" - so funky, I think I listened to this over 20 times yesterday
I'm not a fan of the cut-and-paste buleria, but I don't want to be banned from the Paco-Camaron-Tomatito fandom so I'll keep my mouth shut
If you've loved Aguadulce, you'll also love Soy Flamenco, if not, this album might not be for you...

i think a cd with tomate and camaron is something great. i would'nt say the buleria is cut ' n ' paste, i think of it as a funky reworking of some classic camaron letras. i'm not the biggest fan of choro's (chorus singing) but i thinks a well worked out track.
the track "el regalo" blew me away, its been ages since i've heard a siguiriyas which made the hair stand up on the back of my neck like that when i first listened to the cd. awesome and tasteful accomp by maestro tomate.
the solea or solea por buleria to my mind, is awesome and tomates daughter maria-angeles's voice has really come along since aguadulce.
Weird. It could be that it's limited in your country or you need to pay for spotify unlimited or premium if you have free spotify.
Pretty good album but the falsetas arent easily remembered(musically just passes through), so it doesn't leave a stamp in my brain like for example most of Paco de lucia's albums. I find this to be very difficult when making music, to leave impression on the listener so that he or she can remember parts of the song even years afterwards.
