I have sirius, i also have about 300 stations I can stream thru my bmw app and guess what no flamenco. I can stream batanga etc to the car but why dont these suppliers offer flamenco? I contacted them both and compalined but I bet it doesnt go anywhere. If anyone knows of a good sirius station in particular let me know.

I'm tellin you Rick, there is simply not a big enough market for it. What average person on the street can tell you what a solea is? You'll find latin american stations for days because there's a huge market for it but latin americans don't like flamenco, at least not anymore then americans and canadians which is very few.
but sirius is usually sponsored by a artist. bb king has a sirius station which is his. the play list incldues other artists but is heavy with bb. Some flamenco artist of note could do the same thing but seemingly no one does. I would think there is enough people out there world wide to support a station.
The problem is you drive a BMW. If you drove SEAT, you would get tons of flamenco.
Haha
Rick, I don't think even Paco De Lucia has the working capital of BB King. This would all take a lot of organizing so it's sounds like you've got a nice project on your hands
german cars always get yu in trouble. oh well. I know bb has some great backers, one being Keith Richards who gets whatever he wants anytime he wants it. So yeah I guess Im barking up a dead horse. But it would be nice to have a channel. I stream batanga and then muro flamenco but I dont think the sound quality the same as sirius. Better than listening to oldies however.
well I dont get it, I played rock and folk for years. played classical for awhile but the music that intrigues me as a player, that keeps my interest alive and is a blast to play is flamenco. I cant understand why other guitar players dont look into it more than they do. The only other genre of music that is really fun to play is mississippi delta blues and that is actually quite a simple affair. Lets face it if you ever played rock with a band you get very bored very quickly. Oh well I dont make the rules and yes, Im glad I can stream music off the iphone if nothing else. And I think I will write sirius a letter and bmw a letter and at least perhaps get them to consider it.
Yeah, I love that station, I found it on my hotel TV when I was in Ronda.
This station is especially cool if you speak spanish, they do this "Hablando de estilos" thing where they talk about different palos and what not, yesterday they interviewed some singer, didn't catch their name but it was pretty interesting.
What is Sirius? What is BMW? Why has my mule just crapped on my garden and a wheel just fallen off my cart? Am I a little behind? Think I'll play the old stringed one and try to stay in rhythm with my rumbling tum.
Me no Sirius Me no bmw Me no iphone Me no computer Me know forum Me no mean to upset or insult Me should have known better Me apologies if offend Me shut up and clear up my garden and mend my cart Me only joke!!
Hey rickm ....I use one of these new tablet things ,I gave up on the lap top as it destroyed my faith in the progress of mankind...crash after crash, although I am a total moron when it comes to technology! Thank you for your sense of humour! Regards to you
