i doubt there will be a large number of people ready to ditch 3 for 4 knowing its a matter of 6 months till they have yet another console with out of date hardware. It would have to be a crazy big jump in quality, otherwise its just not worth it.

It becomes a blind loyalty/obsession at some point, and you just buy the console regardless of whether you logically believe it's worth it or not. When I was a hardcore video gamer, I was like that at least...
I miss the Street Fighter and Pro Evolution Soccer days...
I'm a 360 man myself. I have a PS3 too, but it kind of just sits there gathering dust lol.
Sony just can't match Microsoft for the online experience, it doesn't even come close, in terms of games, interface..u name it.
Plus, I really just don't like Sony as a company. They just shoot themselves in the foot over and over again, you wonder who the heck is running their gaming division.

The best thing to do is to wait about a year after its release and see how the overall quality of games are then you make the decision of buying or not. A high end PC today is already more powerful than the PS4 but the PS4 is strictly a game console designed only for one thing. Anyway, we will see what happens.
Holy ****, now there is something I did not expect to see on the Foro. I am admittedly a video game junkie from WAY back, and I LOVE this damn game. Have spent an embarrassing number of hours on it. When I'm not dueling in the Burg you can find me hunting gankers in Darkroot Garden. What's your game, Chester?
If only I could be so grossly incandescent LOL /nerd alert

I'm a PS3 guy, but I think this is true. I'm not really into online gaming, Dark Souls being the exception. I mainly use my PS3 as a media center for streaming from my computer, and it's excels at this.
I've never purchased a new console close to it's release - I'm typically one who waits about a year like Juan said.
I can't say I have a 'game'. I never go for 100% or anything, but I do like a challenge (as long as it doesn't become meaningless grinding). I just beat Uncharted 2, and am replaying Bayonetta a little until I get Heavy Rain ($20 on amazon baby!). Got any suggestions for games? I heard Nino No Kuni is supposed to be good, but I'm gonna wait a couple of years for the price to drop.
I'm holding off on getting Demon's Souls, I know what's going to happen once I get it...
Oh man, have u played the Uncharted series yet? if not, then thats a MUST play (edit: never mind I just read your post more carefully :-p). also, i really like Resistance part 1 (some of the coolest weapons ever i think)
ALSO, if u havent played it on a PC, then Half Life 2 (aka The Orange Box). the game is slightly older now and may feel dated, but it is one of the best games ever made, period.
I've never been one to play a lot of different games. Up until Dark Souls was released, I followed the Zelda series and even had Skyward Sword about 85% complete. I've never been a fan of FPS like COD etc, I tend towards the high fantasy stuff. Since DS, that game is literally the only one I've played. There is so much you can do that I haven't yet been tempted to get into anything else. In fact, I purposely do not go in search of new games because I already waste too much time playing when I should be practicing. So I'm not a good one to be suggesting games.
Chester - what level character are you playing with? I've already beat the game a few times through and got the platinum trophy, so now for a challenge I like to host duels in the Undead Burg. One on one fights, most people are respectful and not using cheap tactics. The most challenging thing to date has been playing in the Forest Hunter covenant and being summoned to fight gankers (host +1 or more white phantoms) - you know the guys who are just grinding for souls, playing as cheap as possible wearing the heaviest armor and hiding behind huge shields.

I like my games like I like my music - numerous and varied. :-)
I honestly don't remember what level my character was. I remember I was a thief, and had an awesome bow (sticky +5 maybe?). After beating it I sold it on amazon (that's my tactic - buy cheap games, play em, and sell back for about the same price).
That game was a crazy rush. Can't pause, can't save, random people can bust into your game and kill you. I was playing it when my daughter was a couple of months old, lots of moments consoling a crying baby while holding the shield button.

I had The Orange Box on 360, I'd hate to say it but I didn't think it was so crazy good or anything, the story was kinda slow and I ended up abandoning the game. I know there's a ton of buzz around it and a ****load of fans, but I guess I missed it...
Uncharted was good, Uncharted 2 was even better. I'll wait a while before I get 3 but my expectations are high.
Games can be a waste of time (god knows I wasted many hours playing) but I live by this famous quote by Philosoraptor:
