Hello from Santa Barbara, California
I just wanted to introduce myself to this fantastic forum. My name is Vincent, and I actually have been a member for some time, but not really the "social" forum type of person. I have posted a few guitars for sale in the Classified, but what really struck me was when a member posted something about people just selling guitars and not participating in the forum. I realized that this place is such a fantastic resource for learning Flamenco, with some really amazing players here, that I should honor it as well - actually give what little I know. For the past 10+ years I have stumbled along this art, making a trip to Jerez & Seville, seeing Jeronimo Maya at Casa Patas in Madrid (blew my mind) and Southern France with the Gypsies of Camargue. I love it all - the traditional old school, the modern players, and the Bailiardo & Reyes (Gipsy Kings Families). All of it has something to offer one that is immersing themselves in this art. I actually was in Alexandria, Virginia and caught a show by forum member Ricardo Marlow at Las Tapas. So, from Santa Barbabra, California - hello and I look forward to 2013 and more Flamenco!! Saludos!

Thanks Erik - Yes - I have been a member but not really the "active" social type for forums. I would visit from time to time. I have devoted this year to traditional playing and thought I should interact more. 2012 was a great year - I saw Vicente Amigo in March, and PACO in April. Both fantastic to say the least.

Yes - Redondo Beach. Fantastic show. I actually got to meet him after - kind of a meet and greet. Interesting that his right hand had barely any nails - super short. Backstage all the LA players were there - Adam Del Monte, Jose Tanaka, Farah fro Strunz & Farah, and I am sure others. Vicente was great!

Nice to meet you Vincent. I wonder if you know my flute playing friend Rebecca Kleinnman.. or her compatriots that include Dusty Brough, Eva Scow, etc..

Hi Brian - I know rebecca very little. We spoke a few times and was vry nice. I am really digging into the traditional playing this year - especially interested in the Moran style of Diego. Does your username suggest that you play that style?

Anyone else came to this thread thinking the title would be "Hello from Santa Claus"? (click on "Home" then you will understand). Im a little bit disappointed right now
