i was told playing in a tiled bathroom helps alot with hearing acoustics and the small mess up's in one's playing.
tried it last night and noticed quite an amount of rough parts in my sound, especially picado and arpeggio. I also notice how sloppy some of my remates sounded. spent an hour working solea and solea por buleria remates.

IMO the spatial effect added by playing in a bathroom does the opposite--it covers up mistakes. Electric guitar players usually add reverb/delay for the same reason and rarely play with a totally dry signal. Getting to hear your playing from a different perspective is the important thing here.

exactly, the reverb tends to cover the smaller mistakes, it's one of the reasons people like it so much, but it sure sounds nice! i asked for a recitalbox for xmas, it might make me sound nicer without amplification (although it'll make my guitar look ugly...)
hahaha, we joked about that with Ramzi a year ago or so, about making these noises...i went to Vicente Amigo's concert then and before that we laughed our asses off about how he'd react to a long loud fart noise during his solo piece i wouldn't want to be the one performing in that case...but surely it's happened before...any clips? :)

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who plays in a bathroom! I was beginning to feel a bit strange about the practice. . .
I keep my guitars in a small humidified bathrooom which is used specifically for that purpose. But I still can't resist the occasional temptation to take one off the stand and play it while sitting on the throne. Actually seems to sound pretty good, quite flattering I find. . .

jahaysus...the thought of that just made me burst out in tears of laughter..

I used to do this in college when I lived in the dorm (imagine a large, tiled dormitory bathroom). I didn't do it for improving technique; I just loved the volume. Black Sabbath on a steel string acoustic. Those were the days.
When I lived in Germany, I'd frequently practice flamenco in the subway station late at night (when the trains were infrequent). Loud acoustics there, as well,...and occasionally strange people.
I think playing in a variety of acoustic settings can be really informative.

playing flamenco guitar while sitting on the toilet is the new thing ;) get rid of your newspapers!
ikd man..I remember I visited a guy who plays guitar as well some years back... he asked me to jam together.. His apartment smelled like highly concentrated marijuana... My guitar case + guitar smelled like that for some weeks... Im sure you don´t wanna try with toilet-gasses.

Even the best have done it. There must be something to it.

you may get a good reflected sound in the toilet , i have tried it .. but it has its drawbacks too , like when yer mate wants to use it in a hurry cos of last nights curry and lager ...... I never did finish that bulerias .....just out ....and gone ...
