Hi Gimar. Your work is comming along nicely. I´m not a fan of mosaic rosettes, but yours has a nice "quiet" beauty. The back plate is nice. I love the striping. Its a bit wide grained, so be carefull and not make it to thin and floppy.
thanks for the input Anders! I havent gotten to the process of thicknessing the plates yet. I just inlayed the tiles in my soundboard, the outer rings will be next whenever I feel like it.
This wil probally be a slow build, I'm about to lose my day time job so I'm kind of stressed and I don't work well under stress, then again who does.
things are realy slow for me at the moment, mostly because I got a offered a job for a electric guitar custom shop.
I made some slips here and there, and things turned out slightly different than I had planned, but I still manage to finish my very first handmade rosette
The rings are made out of maccasar ebony, maple, cypress, and honduras rosewood, i cut my own veneers for the rings myself because i couldnt buy veneer that I liked... hell of a job but I'm happy with the result.

I deceided to go with the honduras rosewood back + sides after all, since I already had the back braced. Also this set wa spoorly matched, and I'm considering this to be a test guitar to try out some new stuff so I'm saving the nice set of cypress for a later guitar.
still trying to figure out what I want to do with the binding, so any input is very welcome. I was thinking about a cypress outer ring, with something darker inside to add contrast.

Headstock veneer is madagascar rosewood, If I knew before hand that I would change the back + sides to honduras rosewood I woudl have used a matching piece of headstock veneer.
