My photo of the week 45

A hot, sticky evening last Friday as the Olympics were kicking off. I saw something rather intimate and very London in this scene. Maybe it's just me, but I like it.

Cool. Man the colors are pretty strong. Nice. Photoshop or camera?

Did anybody ever complained about you taking photos? Do you talk to these people?

Only some lens correction and output levels in Photoshop. This is basically out of the camera with the colours pulled back a little. I smile and shoot and smile again and if they ask, I tell them photography makes me feel alive, like flamenco.

Yes Simon, a very "warm, human" picture captured as an instant in time.
I like the multi-cultural aspect of London too.
You don't get that up here.

It is indeed a nice photo, people must be more tolerant of that kind of thing in London. I have a friend who's photo happy, I was always telling him to be careful of taking pictures of strangers till one day he was chased around the LA county fair by some cholo's who thought he was taking pictures of their girlfriends. He's a little more careful about his subjects now.

bursche, you must know Spanish pretty well because I think your photo is related to the Spanish word "esmoquin," which translates to "dinner jacket" in the UK and "tuxedo" in the US.

I think the image is trying to refer to a 'smoking jacket' which is not a suit, tux or otherwise.

exactly.. a Smoking jacket , Some people have no style .... by jove and what ho ...(re-pronounced to esmoquin ..)
And the no smoking sign isn't weird its the London underground sign with the no smoking in the middle , instead of the station name for example ...

Sometimes you could tell what line you were on by the inside of the carriage even though it didn't have the name ....

That one looks like the Central line ....or possibly Jubilee...........
