Ellie ,.. that is really good , but of all the girls in Spain , pick a better one next time ...not only will that one not attract new members , but some of the old ones may leave.
I believe she is from the planet Vulcan or somehow related to Spock......... Anyway it seems that now you are all on the right track .......... We should have a trial run set up some how and then run a suggestion box again to finalize...........

So what videos do YOU think would NOT be acceptable? (except Cats/Monkeys/Spammers/ etc)
Give say..5 examples.
Ok only stuff that really could happen so only playing of members except:
1. all commercials like for example: hey guys I just made this guitar,..look..and btw..Im selling it right now. You wanna have it?
2. a new self claimed guru tries to convert us to his Paco cult
3. "series" where people try to teach. It should be for entertainment only (except showing falsetas slowly..thats ok. but not..I think u know what I mean. It should not give people a place that they can misuse doing commercials for skype lessons or anything like that). No teaching database IMO.
4. any videos that don´t show members playing for example concerts or workshops where they take a movie of the teacher
5. no videos that I don´t allow for whatever reason. I think thats the best filter. And don´t worry Im pretty pain free.. :>

So what you're saying essentially is that it is a no trade zone. I think advertising should be completely forbidden, but showing your work, falsetas guitars you just made dance steps you came up with should all be allowed.
So you have to think about where you draw the line with the guitar makers. What constitutes showing your work without advertisment? Does it mean no prices or that something is for sale? Does it mean no photo or video sequences of guitars being built?
Some one will make an oblique reference or infer that a guitar is for sale and then someone else will contest it and complain. Then you'll have a can of worms, because they are free to post a long drawn out sequence to the luthery section, but forbidden to post it to the Foro Video channel....
There is a problem of being consistent through out the whole Foro site if you change the rules for one part an not the other. The luthery section is basically becoming a place to advertise guitars while you build them and not talk about guitars or guitar making. So what is the point of making commercial restrictions on one part of the foro and not the other?
Who wants to be the police and decide what is commercial and what is not? That will change the dynamic between foro members in a way that the Foro channel admin. will have a certain power over what gets published on the site. How will an imbalance of member power effect the foro?
RE: foroflamenco.com youtube collect... (in reply to estebanana)
If you want to sell a guitar post it in classifieds. If you want to show your latest guitar build post it in luthiery, or classifieds if its for sale. If you want to share falsetas / show your playing post it in the Youtube list. Guitars that are for sale should not be posted anywhere but in the classifieds. IMO.
btw im not annoyed of advertisement at all. But keeping things tidy helps everybody.

Deniz,
Go read the luthery section. It is being used for advertising right now. There's really not a lot you can do about it unless you ban all commercial references. So my point is if you want a part of the foro to be non commercial for guitar makers they will go to the luthery section and be commercial over there.
I'm saying how do you develop a consistent policy across all the foro? Or do you want a policy which covers non commercialism in one section and not another? How does having a inconsistent policy effect power between members?
RE: foroflamenco.com youtube collect... (in reply to Ron.M)
Here Im fine with everything what the admins allow. I also like to have a look on new guitar builds... No bad thing. I love it.
The video collection should just not be misused..Well,.. just a simple thing if you missed threads for some weeks.. just go there and catch the latest playing.. no big thing.
To be honest.. I also have nothing against guitar building videos on that blog. But the internet rules are strict..just dont wanna run into problems with the law.
RE: foroflamenco.com youtube collect... (in reply to estebanana)
Estebanana,
Personally I have no problems about any of the posts here. I'm pretty sure Simon has none either. Except for the shysters, hucksters and spammers with 1 post who turn up from time to time. I'm all for leaving things as they are, but I'm also open to new ideas. So let's see what Doit's idea is.
Anyway amigo....It's Friday night in San Francisco...Sounds fantastic!....I've got nothin' on tonight here in Aberdeen, Scotland, other than sitting at a keyboard, havin a couple of beers an a wee whisky an then going to bed....so what's gonna happen in SF tonight that I should be missin?

not sure about that one I think that people who want to learn should find things here from people who might have something to teach ,If fact I think that is one of the main things about this site that attracts new members ...a place to learn bits and pieces from videos posted by others , , they themselves decide wether they want to learn it or not ... and what better way than the video method ......

maybe just the honour system? The luthiers here have been in for a long time, I'm sure as adults, they can decide honestly whether it is an advert or not.

Well not sure what is the consensus. I for one will NOT be logging in or visiting other sites blogs or pages to see people from HERE playing. I check out Facebook and Foro and thats about all I have time for. I think whatever video database should be contained HERE and just made easy to find via a sticky post or separate section. Any youtube video can already be linked to youtube accounts websites blogs or whatever if one desires to spend time following them. Search engines etc to locate a palo or person are equally time consuming and often don't get you what you are really looking for.
RE: foroflamenco.com youtube collect... (in reply to Ron.M)
Create YouTube account: 5 min Create Thread in which people post their Youtube links: 5 min Mark videos as favorite and/or add to playlist on a weekly or daily basis: 10s per video. You could name the playlists after palos and username. Everything else can be added on later. Theres only 39 people who clicked on yes anyway...

There is already a consistent policy. Its justs not strictly enforced by admins (which is no big deal for me as i dont read luthiery). But it wouldnt be any problem to just move threads which are commercial. But you have to see, part of the reason why people like Doit feel its useful to organize member videos is that the "member" video upload section is spammed with videos of Pdl and co.

I just lost passion for that project.
are you serious or is it a joke ?
no joke. But I think 39 ppl is already a good number and makes it worth to do it since never everybody votes. Deniz´s insights to youtube are good. Managing playlists of "favorites that are sorted to specific palos" would be the best and simplest solution.
So who would like to open up an account and manage that?
RE: foroflamenco.com youtube collect... (in reply to Ron.M)
The force is strong in you Florian. Ok I´ll do that. but give me some time...many things are going on right now in my life. There is just some time left to troll a little bit..but ok I´ll do that when there is time. =)

Cool Doit! Remember you can share the account so not just one guy has to maintain the channel by himself. Of course i would participate in that if so desired. But you can do it also alone, as last but not least it was your idea .
