Hello people,I ordered a couple of Juan Martin's books with CDs and DVDs.I got Juan Martin's solo flamenco guitar volume 1 and El arte Flamenco De La guitarra volume 1. I have been through Gerhard Graf-Martinez Flamenco Guitar method volume 1,and want to learn more.I did join Jose Tanaka's online lessons but found the website very hard to use and confusing,so i canceled my membership.I hope to be able to take lessons by skype, but cant afford them right now.Anyone else here use any of Juan Martin's learning tools?Did they help you?Would like to hear what you thought of them. Thanks for your help and advise, cheers, James

I know a fair few people who have loved these books. (a few of them my customers) A couple of those guys go on his week long courses in Ronda too. They are very good apparently.

Well i got my Juan Martin's books.I must say i am very impressed with them both. the method book is wonderful, explains everything good, alot of detail.Very easy to read. The solo Flamenco book is also great.I can play first few songs no problem and they sound great.I am going to take my time with the method book and get a good handle on the basics. These two books should keep me busy for a long time.I am for sure going to be buying volume 2 for each book later down the road.My only problem is that i dont have a Flamenco guitar yet,i am playing on my steel string acoustic.I will be buying the Yamaha 172Sf guitar soon. Thanks for all the advise and help,Cheers, James

As I have mentioned before I have been learning from those books for a while now. Focus first on technique then on compass. Take your time very important that your rasgeos are timed correctly, and your alzapua, tremolo, arpegios etc are done correctly. Working with a steal string guitar is not a great idea, a recent post dealt with this issue.
At anytime you feel you want to work on something shoot me a PM, I live north of Plano but can meet half way. I am not and expert but been at it for a while.

its just I feel odd that you felt confused with jose tanaka and you're feeling comfortable with juan martin ... Juan martin doesn't break down anything , while Jose breaks all

I think my problem with Jose Tanaka's website is the browser i am using 1/2 of the things on Jose's website made my browser crash. The lessons i did get a chance to look at were great.I may try Jose's lessons again after i have my computer looked at.I am working on Juan Martin's El Arte Flamenco De La Guitarra Volume 1,it is great on learning the basics, well written, easy to understand. I am very happy with Juan Martin's books.Cheers, James
