all you americans and your baseball - thats a game for fat people! "football" is a good game , it just stops too much! had it been more fluent it will be amazing , most of the time nothing happens though.....

Stick to tennis or ping pong man. Football is too hard on the nails especially if you are a goalkeeper, which is what I used to be before I started guitar.

when i wrote "football" i ment american football - this is why it's under quotes - it's not really football! soccer is the real football , and it's great! :D

for my two cents, soccer (the one with the round ball) has to be one of the most boring sports. people run around for 90 minutes and then some and with luck one team will win 1-0. the only other activity i could imagine that would be more boring is tiddly-winks.
i have to take exception to doit's comments about russian women's shot put. i found that sport to be very intellectually stimulating. one has to deduce if indeed that is a woman and if so, what kind of steroids did she take and how will she give the judges the slip when it comes time to pee in the cup.

you're watching the wrong matchs , the american , and the israeli for that matter, leagues suck
in about a month or so the championship league final will air , try watching that match before you ditch (REAL) football like that dude
it's funny that it's the most popular sport in the world except for the states where people just hate it , and american football and baseball are not very popular anywhere else around the world

mottallica--actually i was thinking of world cup type of soccer. i remember watching the world cup and was bored, mystified why the time after 90 minutes was not posted (gives some sense of anticipation) and really mystified that if soccer is so popular why the audience had to blow a plastic tube that made the sound of angry bees. then there are the riots, mass murders and such attached to soccer....
those plastic vuvuzelas is somthing from south africa not from soccer :D and the last world cup was ok but not a good one the time after 90 minutes is because unlike basketball the clock doesnt stop , so the referee ads time . it is called injury time . why it was not posted - i guess it's the tv stations fault. and about soccer vs football i guess it's a matter of customs - this is why probably where one is popular the other isn't

Yeah.. massive time out overload can suck a little.
The problem I have with soccer is that the defense is definitively too strong for the game to be entertaining. Its not enough action going on in 90 +x mins.
Well,..the major argument against this sport is the overall negative mentality of the fans. I dislike hooligans, groups of drunken and in an offensive way yelling fans. I dislike it to meet these people on the street, in train stations and especially in trains. Its not fun to have a soccer game in town.
If it would be a peaceful sport with peaceful fans who enjoy the games together without yelling **** or even attacking other oriented fans, then I could imagine to give soccer a try. But like it is now. No chance. Soccer stays the most primitive sport of all categories to me because of the fans.
