Dont trust anything. Here you have a story about reviews from the Stewmac website: I bought a fiddle kit from Stemac and didnt like it at all. So I posted a negative review on their website with 1 star. Nothing happened. So I posted it again a week later. It didnt show up. In order to test them, I posted another review (of a scraper blade) I was very possitive and gave it 5 stars (Its a good scraper) After a couple of days it showed up on their website, but the negative review of the fiddle kit still hasnt been made public, although stewmac have published other reviews of the same kit since then. All very possitive of course.
Internet is there to show only the good sides.... There was a just normal average lady that was on a dating site, nothing happened for a few months, then she bought a 14 euro cheap bathing suit. She took the old normal fotograph away, and posted a new foto with the bathing suit.........900 dates in two days...lol
Anders, you play the fiddle very well! It sounds like a Stradivarius in my ears.....really nice!
Is it normal not to put something on the back of the neck? I always thought it was worn out by the pro's
Peter, maybe I should buy a new bathing suit and make some videos of me playing wearing that suit.... Its normal not to varnish the back of the neck on an in instrument in the violin family.
It just surprised me that a big place like stewmac.com cheat so obviously.
Sorry to hear about this negative experience, Anders - I have always had excellent luck with StewMac, but my experience is limited to things like tools and accessories. Very lame that they seem to be filtering reviews like that.
Thanks for the heads up about this, Anders. I think you should direct StewMac to this thread (maybe not to a video of you playing in the bathing suit).
4/13/2012 I just received this email (below) so I was compelled to write to Stew-Mac's customer service and ask them to comment on the above experiences. (Incidentally, I found the side-bending strap useless. I thought it might make the tight waist curve easier to bend without scorching, but it made it impossible. A wet rag over the bending iron was what I needed.)
