iam changing my cheapy tuners to much better performance tuners and now i found out there are aluminium tuners which are near 1/2 the weight of brass tuners

If you're looking to change your existing Schallers for either of these they should fit fine assuming that they are the standard 35mm between the posts which they probably are but I think the old Landsdorfers/Reichels may have been 36mm so it'd be worth checking but maybe someone here knows more. Other than that it's just that the screw holes may not line up exactly as they rarely seem to. They certainly should be an upgrade, in price if nothing else.
Beno, is that alessi tuners? i have 1 similar installed by salvador Castillo on my classical guitar. but now he doesn't have anymore those exclusive tuners anymore. Graf tuners Jorg just emailed me these pictures of aluminium based tuners which is 1/2 the weight of our current tuners, our tuners are about 155g , this tuner around 99g. i think they are good for blanca too.

The problems I find with Schallers is that, yes, they are too shiny and that they tune in steps instead of being smooth. To throw another option at you, GSI have started selling a new brand - Baljak 'Mare', 'Bella' and 'Inga' $400 tuners. Personally I've never heard of them but maybe someone here knows them.
if iam not wrong smallman guitars have them other then smoothness , the most important for me it has to be light. i found the lightest is aluminium based tuner which is 98g. i am buying 1 of that from Graf and I think my blanca deservea a good tuner
This gotoh tuners is my favorite. Leightweight aluminium with alu rollers that run in a bearing so that they dont touch the headstock. leightweight and VERY smooth

If you are looking for precision gear, I´d like to quote myself about Scheller tuners.

Should you order, remember to tell Mr. Scheller whether you prefer the pegs to be smooth as can be or rather a bit inert. ( He says many prefer them a little bit inert, as suspecting the tuners to otherwise not be keeping in tune when too smooth, which being baseless concern however.)
He adjusts them to your preference if you let him roughly know in advance.

My HSL also has the same tuners; but I'm not sure if I really like them! I can't find the relationship between the guitar and the trumpet/saxaphone or whatever it is! They do the job though, and I care for the sound more than the look.
Over 500 EUR ( common price level for boutique stuff ), and these are top, as other fellows find too.

Besides, as I see it, there is no universal rule. For some guitars you might want a bit weight on the headstock, on others not. ( Stiffer tops could do with some moment of inertia from the head, whereas more pliable ones be rather suited with less mass on the headstock. I suppose Anders and other luthiers will confirm thelike.)
i don't care about the weight of the tuner any more after consultation with my luthier. so i decided to put on something beautiful , i treat my guitar like a woman, so must as well make it beautiful.
