Non back and hand pains

a couple of months ago i started using a footstool in an attempt to overcome guitar playing related back pains...since then i've been experiencing a not sharp but very disturbing pain near the tendon in my right groin, and while i don't use the stool anymore (only at gigs), the pain remains...much less often i also feel these in the inside of my right knee...
these kinds of pains have not been discussed here before to my knowledge, do you guys have any experience with them?

This would be the inner thigh?

Stretching from the groin and a bit outwards?

Look up "meralgia paresthetica." Also, hip pathologies can cause referred pain that is felt in the knee, but whose source is actually the hip/pelvis. Look that up too. The foot stool maybe creates a more acute angle between your thigh and body than does sitting cross-legged, and you are thin, so maybe your lateral femoral cutaneous nerve got trapped under / along the inguinal ligament. So the issue might be resulting from hip/lower back issues, and meralgia paresthetica issues. Meralgia can actually manifest with pain into the groin, or even up the abdomen/chest, as well as possibly into the knee.

I got the meralgia issue when I wasn't eating well at some point and lost weight fast, so the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve was not padded well with fat anymore, and got trapped somewhat under the inguinal ligament. Whenever I would sleep on my back and stretch the nerve a bit, I would get numbness in my whole right lower extremity (thigh, leg), and would wake up in pain / total loss of sensation in the right lower extremity. To remedy, I had to start sleeping on my side with knees / hips flexed, and tried to stop putting the guitar close into my thigh/body/groin. I also tried to gain a bit of weight back. And I also had to wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait until this got better (that was in 2010). I still get numbness a bit now in the right lower extremity if I sleep on my back for a long time...

The nervous system is such an amazing one, but such a difficult one to deal with if it gets injured.

i have it on the left groin, coz i play lefthanded i guess. The only thing docs said to me was to do stretching and muscle workout. On my case its either the tendon or the joint thats swollen and causes the tendon to jump from one side to the other. I also had some knee problems, which where cause by degrading muscles above the knee. There muscle training helped big deal, as well as back excersizes against the back pain! it only took 2 months for the back pain to go away with that, i was really happy about that.
Dont know if this helps, but id be glad if it did.

That can be checked out rather quickly. I have a feeling he hasn't done something to predispose him to something like that though. But sure, we're not exactly doing physical exams and taking proper histories here, so I would say a hernia is on the differential.

I used to have lower back pain using just a footstool. I have since gotten the dynarest pillow and use a footstool at the lowest height. I think the footstool raised my leg too high thus causing the pain. Now I do yoga too which helps stretch all of the muscles.
