Hey, pretty good stuff Arash..

But let's get this Forum back on track.

F*ck the fancy stuff....THIS is Bulerias guitar playing!

Listen to the applause of his simple thumb driven "solo" piece...

It's because it's El Arte!

cheers,

Ron

Didn't we have a thread on these guys just a couple weeks ago? Anyway, can't stand them.

For once I agree with Ron even if his response was meant in jest.

I dont have any real problems with them, but I am not really a fan either.

I have liked somestuff from Andy actually but...

He and other guitarist just seems sort of overrated, especially technically.
Not that it really matters either.. But I guess opinion can make him amazing, or dull.

That being said, I totally respect him still, hell I would even want to collaborate with him, and I also think he really does deserve to earn money doing what he does, I mean I really really think he deserves that.

He has a talent, thats for sure.

BTW Ron nice video!

Man i love stuff like this.
Simple but beautiful. I really don't care about how technically advanced this is. When it comes to this type of music, i really don't care.
I am really thinking about buying one of these Lakewoods and play fingerstyle (in Flamenco free moments )

Hi Arash,

My favourite open tuning steel string sound is DADGAD as played by Bert Jansch (in 1966).
This is the song that influenced Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.

(solo bit starts at 1:26)

(Bert's voice takes a bit of getting used to I like it myself.)

cheers,

Ron

Hey Ron, this video is not available in Germany because of the F.ing GEMA organisation. Nearly half of music videos are not available here.

since we are on off topic acoustic guitar players, here is one of my favorite rock players when was a teen. Watching it now, I still think he has great "soniquete", and this tune in 3/4 mostly (there is a little spot in 4/4) has a lot of cool contra accents and stuff, even though it is mainly rock.

Nuno Bettencourt...wasn't he the lead guitarist of a band called extremist or something like that ?

My teen time: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Vinni moure, Tony MCAlpine, a heavy metal band called Europe (loved them)..... i remember always going to a local record shop and looking for new E-guitar solo lps (or cool metal stuff)...
Sometimes i miss my Ibanez and Mashall Amp...and those little BOSS effect processors on the ground...

Andy is a great guy - I was fortunate to study with him for a weekend, and it was a pleasure seeing him play up close. He is composing some very interesting stuff IMO.

And he can hang with the metal dudes

Does some pretty badass covers as well:

Man me too if it weren't so hard on the nails. I'd buy a breedlove though. Alex deGrassi (early stuff) and Micheal Hedges are my favorite players in this genre.
