Well, I just installed this brand new set yesterday (w/ black treble string). Something weird is going on with the trebles (G and B ). There is a white wire that appears while playing. And when pulled, the string frays apart. If I dont touch the white wire, it wraps around the string and form, gradually, a kind of hairball. This phenomenon occurs along the entire length and not just locally.
Do you think it's a defective set? Any idea for what's from?
It's the first time I try 828, (i use to use 827 mt), but i'm disappointed with this issue. I'll have to remove the trebles after 2 days of use! It's a shame coz the overall sound is not bad at all.
Has anyone ever tried them ?
BTW I sent a email to hannabach to complain about!

Hello, I have used many sets of the 828 with none of the problems you mentioned. I pair the 828 basses with the Carbon trebles. You have a bad set it appears.
Bought two sets. They both did the same thing. Know of a few others with same issue. No idea what it is...at first we thought it was a spider web....Not using them for other reasons as well. The titanyl's are a great string, a much better set IMO. Highly recommend...

thanks for the advice, even if they're a little expensive for me.
Spider web yeah lookalike. As I realized that if I pulled over, it frays apart until the end, I burned them with my lighter. I thought it would solve the problem. But the darn G string lost tension and her brightness went away after that. So my G sounds also dead!
Here's a pic, give you an idea...

"...We are aware of a problem with a small batch in the flamenco series and also in the first line of the 828 flamenco black. However both problems should have been eradicated long ago. ..."
So I suppose I came across with an old set. Ordered mine at stringbymail, you too Alval?

yes...earlier this year. guess that solves the mystery.

used either reds or blues for years but again i am really happy with the sound of the titanyls...last a lot longer, no pitting on bass strings for months... brighter and richer tones. work really well on My Ramirez.
I'm kind of black cat with this seller. I know everybody here is happy with them, but for me it's another story! On 3 purchases, 1 never reached my physical mailbox, 1 included a defective set...
Wonder if there will be a fourth time
