If anyone is in LA and wants to demo...

There are 2 on sale at Norm's Guitars:

http://www.normansrareguitars.com/acoustic/index4.html

If the link doesn't work, Page 4, second row, 2 on the right. Appraised at more than a 57' Ramirez!

Give me some feedback....Thanks!

The "Ramirez" does not look like a real Ramirez--either the guitar is an estudio with an interestingly odd headstock shape (have not seen that one at the Ramirez website), is made by some guy named Ramirez (Ralph Ramirez?) or is bogus. It does not look like a real Ramirez from J.R. 3's shop.

They look like nice guitars. Is this the best place to consign them - how about the dealers in the LA area - Trilogy, Dan Zeff, GSI, Classic guitars International?

Best Wishes!

Without a name, I basically had to give them away, so a guy 'stole' them and put them up there - or is part of the shop. Either way, it establishes a price, so I don't have to give away my guitars anymore.

Sad, but without a 'name', you have to compete with some rather poor builders with 'names' that get a fortune...lol. Such is life.

You have to start somewhere and usually that is at the beginning. I sold at least my first 10 instruments for no more than £1000. Making sure they are sold to the right people is what counts more than anything else. To do that you have to make it worth their while but ultimately you will get more from it!

lol....I would have killed to get L1000..... Especially since appraisals were in the $3-$4K range.

What I don't understand are people's perceptions...

I had a guy call who saw an ad for #3 I have for sale. He'd track down the listing after he'd seen the guitars at Norm's, running my name.

We talked at length, and he was going to look into buying one of the one's at Norm's "because they are a reputable dealer".

I asked if there was a problem dealing direct with the builder, and getting the next guitar at a slightly better price?

"It's just that a dealer has a reputation and is established", he said.

???...Sorry. He lost me there.
