I've been listening to Flamenco for a few years now but unfortunately most of my exposure has been through what's available on the web (youtube etc). Now I'm looking to expand my cd collection significantly. Once before I made a purchase from es flamenco:
I was somewhat happy with the way everything worked out. I got what I ordered fairly quickly although one of the CDs was scratched. They did have a return policy but I had only noticed after the return period was over. Anyway I would consider buying from them again unless people have had really bad experiences. Also, if you could let me know what your experiences are with any other stores I would really appreciate it. I'm considering getting 10+ cds for starters so if I'm making that big of a purchase I would like to make sure I'm not buying from a flaky store.
Check Amazon first: their new prices are usually good (although the second-hand ones are often inflated), and you get free shipping within the country on orders of $25 (£25 in the UK) or more.
If you’re in the US and amazon.com doesn’t have what you want, check amazon.co.uk. Its stock is often different; and although you’ll have to pay postage, you won’t have to pay VAT, so the prices come out about the same. Once you have an Amazon login you can use it for any Amazon location in the World, and it remembers your address, credit card info etc.
Also check Flamenco Connection before you pay high prices from abroad.
As regards esflamenco, I bought the new 5.1 edition of Saura’s Flamenco from them, which doesn’t seem to be available in the US yet (I have an international DVD player). It also has subtitles, so you can get all the lyrics if your Spanish isn’t fluent.
I’ve bought a couple of other things as well. The service was prompt and I had no problems.
