I've also updated my website

Didn't want to step on Anders' toes but I've also been working on my site.
Mostly added some pictures on the Gallery page and added a little rosette gallery.

Let me know what you think and if everything's working smoothly.

RE: I've also updated my website (in reply to Andy Culpepper

This issue was and still does exist. I am using Windows 7 and Firefox 5 with a 1280 x 800 resolution. Your main page / home page for example, appears to have scroll down and scroll sideways sliders which work, but are there for no reason. The content (images and frame on top) of the home page covers only 30% of the page's space, but the rest of the page, you CAN scroll down, or even sideways, for a good amount, only to find nothing there. You know what I mean?

You should NOT be able to scroll down or even sideways because all you find should you scroll is black background.

I'm not computer expert, but the way I think of it is this: you've created a page dimension that is fixed to all subpages of your website, and for some pages where there are lots of pictures / text, the scrolling bars work well because if you scroll, you actually see more pictures or more text. However, for other pages where there is only one picture on top, or just a bit of text, you scroll down, but you find nothing, which I find makes that subpage seem ugly or unprofessional. That's just my take though. I'm not even sure what I said in this paragraph in terms of trying to explain why this is makes sense to begin with.

Anyone agree? Computer whizzes?

Cheers!

Looks pretty nice. I think a rosette gallery is a great idea Can never get enough of peoples' rosette designs!

Besides what rombsix mentioned, my only concern would be loading times for the photos. They take a bit long to load. I'm running Windows 7, Firefox 3.something, a fast i7 computer with a good video card, and high speed cable, so I'm fairly certain there's no bottleneck on my end.

Still, I don't think they should be real small either because I appreciate the detail they provide. If it were me, I'd probably experiment with 1600x1200 or so? Just my 2 cents

Thanks Rodrigo!

Ramzi, lol I hear you man. That will take about 5 seconds to fix. It's not that all the pages are set to the same size, it's just that I made some of them bigger and never got around to getting rid of some of that black space.

JDB, it's true and other people have mentioned that. Some time soon I will mess around with the pictures but it takes a lot of time. Thanks man

Looks good, Andy! Any thoughts on adding a blog? I find that's a cool way to share some of your thoughts and ideas, and it might be beneficial for potential customers that don't already follow you on the Foro.

I just added a page with some of my thoughts on construction and bracing design.
I don't think there's anything terribly controversial on there but I know other builders might approach things differently

Site works nicely. I would take off the blue underlining on the main page links though. I don't know if it is something that only shows up in firefox, but it's standard in most browsers to use the blue underlinings when nothing is defined in the html or stylesheet.

The guitars look stunning. With those prices it sure looks like people are getting A LOT of value for their money.

Using firefox part of the white text in the about section continues outside of the black background box.

The thumbnails in the gallery are being rescaled from a larger size e.g.

835px × 749px (scaled to 192px × 171px)

These photos should to be resized offline as the web server will be spending a lot of CPU cycles rescaling them - if they are not in the local browser cache which they will not be for new visitors.

RE: I've also updated my website (in reply to Andy Culpepper

thanks MrMagenta, I've trying to figure out how to get rid of the blue.. I'm by no means a professional website guy. But it is becoming almost a second job for me
In my browser there's no text outside the black but I'll look into it.

Thanks Simon, I did not know that. When (if) I have a spare couple hours or so I'll try to fix that.
