Just wanted to post a little demo I made with my guitar #13 - Spruce top, Oregon Myrtle back and sides and planetary pegs. The bracing is my new pattern with a few tweaks.
RE: New guitar - Spruce/Myrtle (in reply to Andy Culpepper)
Very beautiful May I ask: what kind of wood are the bindings? They complement the side and back quite nicely. Tonewise, how would you say Oregon Myrtle compares to cypress?
RE: New guitar - Spruce/Myrtle (in reply to Andy Culpepper)
Its looks and sounds like a very nice guitar. Very well build. Taste is personal and I personally dont like the Myrtle to much. But thats just me. And maybe if I had acces to it, I would build with it and like the look of it as well.

JuanDaBomb: Thank you. The bindings are bloodwood with maple/bloodwood purfling. This guitar doesn't sound like any of the cypress guitars I've made. It has a certain presence and "edge" to the sound. Kind of a warm, slightly "distorted" cedary kind of sound. And it projects sound *really* well I think, to the point that the guitar sounds better in some ways from the "audience" than from the driver's seat. Only time I've ever slightly regretted not putting a soundport in a guitar
Thanks Anders! I have to say I'm mostly a Cypress/Rosewood guy personally but it was interesting to work with something new.
Thanks Gimar.
Kris: I like the guitar a lot. I'm still developing this pattern as far as fine tuning of how the braces are shaped/what size they are but I'm definitely moving closer towards my "ideal" sound and feel.
