Been googling for anything DeVoe once in a while, and found a track today that seems to finally have captured well what this make can sound like.
When you read the specs it looks as if there was much of postwork, but I can confirm that what you hear in the video sounds quite like the DeVoe I know. - And consider that the one in the video hasn´t riped much seeing that it is has been built this year.

Yes, his playing is so inspirig! Had to watch this clip several times yesterday and left the site open to enjoy it again over the next days.
- His body posture actually reminds me of a young fella who once gigged solo at the boarding school I was in during the late seventies. Would be funny if it was him. ( Back then with long hair and all, naturally, as it were the times.)

*bump!*
Funny, how this recording comes accross like quite an inspiring take since a while to me ( and friends whom I showed the link ), while it seems to generate only little interest here.

Just saw this for the first time. Awesome player! It's amazing how many superb guitarists are out there, but not famous...

Nice to see the share of pleasure with this clip.
Yes, I am trying to watch the Barba clip too since days, but can´t get around censoring currently.
Will be back on it when seen.

PS: For the home recording guys among you:
Also check the audio quality. The pre is from SPL, which being a brand that I have had good experience with ( owning several devices from them ). Great electronic engineering at decent pricing.

Managed to acess yesterday and having been switching back and forth between Martins´s playing with the DeVoe, the Barba and the Miguel Rodriguez.
Hard to tell. All three marvellous instruments, and one just wished to be checking them out live side by side.
So far it seemed as if the DeVoe had the most luster, while the Rodriguez coming along rather dry, but with great separation, a mighty lower register and an inbuilt church hall. While the Barba appears to reside somewhere in between the two other. The Barba and the Rodriguez seem spot on intonation wise, while the DeVoe not exactly.
Remarkable to me how the DeVoe and Barba perform despite of having been built just this year.
Most inspiring yet remains the player´s adorable performance. He really got me hooked. -
Besides, I obtained a M. Rodriguez Estudio blanca last year that had been badly beaten up and split through its sides, with the body almost into halfs. A whole guitar forum was mocking and foaming about how I would be so stupid to have such a piece of junk restored, but it showed to be worth the money. Though short of a brilliance common to concert level instruments, it otherwise bears quite the timbre and properties typically known to M.R. guitars. ( Including great separation and perfect intonation.) And it has most of character among my guitars.

Agreed, microphoning and post have been done very well!
I received a reply from Johannes Inhoffen yesterday who arranged these clips and did the camera work himself; and whom I had kindly asked to tell Mariano Martin how a number of people and me have been impressed and inspired by his musical and technical skills.
Quite supposedly Mr. Mariano is earning his laurel already professionally, yet I thought it couldn´t hurt to let him know of appreciation for these videos. -
I am improving with my abanico since I saw his. That brush just goes without words.
- True that with such a touch any guitar will sound at its best. Yet, the specimens demoed do deliver their special quality, don´t they.

Though far from taking it to its limits, with the isolated technical exercises currently strictly executing, I am having a blast with my DeVoe.
I guess, in your hands its properties would be exploited much more than that, however.
( Years ago, I saw a video on youtube in which someone in his home setup played "Entes dos aguas" to a rhythm track. Though imploying plec technique, doing excellent. For some unconscious reason I always think that must have been you. Can it be?)
