My impression is that Sabicas, Montoya, and Nino Ricardo were more into the Tientos. I have not heard a Ricardo Tangos, and the Tangos by Montoya is really a Tientos no? Perhaps Tangos was not all the rage back then?

More importantly as Brutus and Cassius asked the Senate in the Forum "Before any other business,(ie stabbing Julius Caeser )can anyone tell me where we can find a recording of Sabicas playing Tangos "

Dear foro thank you to everyone who replied to my thread regards sabicas tangos especially jose mendes who sent me some mp3s of the great man . It appears that he did record this palo but as an accompaniment to the cante but I have not found a solo composition, yet the recordings jose sent me have loads of nice falsetas between the singing Yes Deniz Paco de Lucia ,but what I wanted to hear was the Tangos that he heared , learned and was influenced by . I know this is know a old thread and Im not sure if the admin want me to delete it but I was wondering if I should start a new thread regaerds old style tangos ie solos by Nino Ricardo ,Melchor de Marchena, Mario Escudero,or early solos by Manolo Sanlucar and Enrique de Melchor.
any way enjoy the music every one !

On "Queen of the Gypsies" he plays "Tientos Canasteros", which really is just a tango. Also sometimes tientos can speed up and turn into tangos too, like he ends most of his solea and alegrias with bulerias.
