I am planning to buy my first beginner Flamenco Guitar ! yippee !. I like the sitting position of Paco De Lucia (atleast I wanna sit like him :-D).
I kindaa of decided on a Cordoba F10 or Francisco Navarro Student. But this video totally blew me off.
From the video I understood that there are two sizes of Flamenco Guitars.
I stay in india and have no option of trying out different flamenco guitars personally(not available here). So I thought of checking with you guys, like which is the best buy for beginner 'paco like' guitar. My budget is around $1200.

Thanks for the advice guys. One of my friend's is in Barcelona for official trip this week. He tried searching for cordoba/francisco navarro there, but didnt get it (as they are made in US!).
If any of you know/from barcelona(spain), can you help me with the addresses of trusted Guitar Shops and trusted local brands :)

The extra size does project the sound....that coupled with the bracing I believe actually OVERPROJECTS the sound and the bass notes in particular have too much sustain and volume creating an imbalanced effect.....for a slow Rondena may sound OK....but try playing a Bulerias and it reallly muddies up the sound......The basses on these guitars are simply too overpowering IMO.
Yes - I'm going with the flow on this. Maybe I missed the boat, but I thought that the whole point about the shallow body (as you've stated Rum) was to help to reduce the sustain and therefore help attack. As far as I understand, negras have a hardwood of choice, but not necessarily a big deep body. This would result in a "compromise" of good projection yet still retain the attack without the sustain. Maybe I got this wrong, but thats how I've come to understand and I just got really confused when I saw the big deep body in the first video. I think Ron got it when he says that Bernal Guitars are "built properly"
