So basically what Doit is saying is that it's okay to tap a guy but not okay to tap a lady. Thanks for making your sexual preferences clear.

Good words... Also to join the new guitar freight train, I am getting a negra tomorrow off of my teachers friend who is a luthier... I am really excited! It has taken me almost a year to put away money for a flamenco guitar- mainly because most of my paycheck goes to my college fund. (I make minimum wage working at the meat department at a grocery store.)
I can't wait until I go to college next year, graduate, and get out to the work world
RE: My new Hermanos Sanchis Lopez!!!! (in reply to Guest)
I am good at managing my money
He also gave me a really good deal on it, my teacher says he occasionally sells some of his guitars to the 12th fret in Toronto for a couple thousand and was going to buy the one I am purchasing, but he couldn't afford it.
I feel like an 8 year old on Christmas eve right now - even though I am spending my own money on this present to myself
And I understand what you mean on how a good guitar is essential for learning. Many people say a good guitarist will sound the same on a crappy guitar -this is TRUE. However, once you are at the intermediate stage a good guitar will motivate you too become better. Having a awesome sound instrument will without a doubt give a player who is not at an advanced level a little more oomph in that learning process.

I can't believe you did the 'Unboxing Video....' I've often seen these kind of videos on you tube and wondered what the hell they are all about and what type of person would shoot one. Now I know, could have guessed actually. I did enjoy the sound effect from the kids though.
So one minute you're a cool guy with a 'different' guitar from the crowd, standing your ground against the Foro at it's most venomous, and the next you're a regular guy with a regular guitar.
Nice guitar man, I think I'll get one myself.
NB. There maybe some good news for UK players wanting to buy the Hnos Sanchis Lopez guitars.

Congrats mate! I also have a 1F which is absolutely amazing for the money... I have always thought, and still think, that it's the best value for money you can currently get... although their prices have gone up recently. Enjoy it... it's gonna sound better and better as it opens up! Oh... and do yourself a favour, put some La Bella 820 black trebles on it and be ready to be surprised! Saludo

Pimiento had mentioned about what I thought about Andalusian guitars now...
I have some sincere questions....for one the more I play this guitar and my hand gets accustomed the easier it seems to play....I would like to know why??????
Anybody???? Honestly I want to know also why everything I seem to play is coming out faster???? And easier with less effort????
Is this what people mean when they talk about a fast guitar????
I'm glad you are feeling the difference now. That instrument will allow you to do things that your old one didnt. When the set up is good you can play things that wont come out so easily on a lesser instrument. Once you get used to it you will realise that a lot of things that were holding you back was not your playing, but the guitar. Its going to be a lot less effort on both left and right hand. That Sanchis sounds like an amazing guitar and I have played enough of them to know what the set up is like. Just make sure you put medium tesion strings on it. Its the difference between driving a Ford and Mercedes. Its exactly what they mean by a fast guitar!
Have lots of fun with it...in a few months you wont ever want to play a lesser guitar again.

Sorry but I don't believe in this theory The day I'm gonna upgrade from my cheap guitar maybe i'll change my mind but atm this just sounds BS for me!...No offense it's just IMO.
RK pliz upload a (solea por) buleria lets say in a few days to see if I could notice a drastic change in your playing

Nah, mezzo...
It can be quite true.
I've picked up the occasional guitar (belonging to a pro who wasn't selling unfortunately), where the guitar has just fitted your hands like gloves.
The "feel" is just right and some stuff that is giving you problems on your own guitar just seems to come out without much effort and you amaze yourself.
So, from past experience....I'd say it's definitely true.
RE: My new Hermanos Sanchis Lopez!!!! (in reply to Ron.M)
From my experience I can say that a bad guitar can inhibit your progress dramatically. Practice is the only way to improve your playing, a guitar will never make you a better guitarist, but a bad guitar will cause you unnecessary pain even if you try hard to improve.
RE: My new Hermanos Sanchis Lopez!!!! (in reply to Ron.M)
Mezzo if you've never played a really good guitar that suits your hands and ears then you're in for a pleasant surprise!
This thread is the closest to a genuine comparison we've had, both with video and RK's report of his personal experience and I conclude that it's another bad day at the marketing office for Andalusian guitars.
RE: My new Hermanos Sanchis Lopez!!!! (in reply to bursche)
I agree with that, the other thing is that you are probably want to play more often and longer with a good guitar you like than a crappy one. It's just like a nice girl friend and a not so nice one. Oops did I write this.
RE: My new Hermanos Sanchis Lopez!!!! (in reply to rogeliocan)
To explain "my experince":
I started with an Aparicio AA40F which was perfect for the first steps as it had a good setup and an authentic sound, but there was no tonal spectrum i could make use of. No matter how I hit the strings, it was always the same sound.
My second guitar was a HSL Bulerias. Great value for the money and a wonderfully sounding guitar. The comfort was even better than on my Aparicio, but after 3 years of playing, 3 years of trying other great guitars I wanted to experience an entirely handmade luthier guitar.
The week before last I got a 1979 Ramirez Blanca and it is a whole new world I have to explore. The tonal spectrum has thousands of new doors for me to open that I never had access to on my Sanchis and the feeling of an old flamenco guitar is just wonderful.
Each step was like revealing another secret
And yes, rogeliocan, motivation probably is the most important aspect.

I look forward to the day you pick up a great guitar! I'm not offended by your opinion. Its true that a good player can make a cheap guitar sound quite good, BUT I dont believe its possible to get to that level without playing a good instrument. My playing radically improved once I got a concert instrument, so has everyone else that i know, and I'm sure the same will be true for you too.

I seriously have never had this happen with an instrument and didn't expect my playing to improve so drammaticly so quickly.....Anyone have some solid logic to all of this??????
What is usually meant with "fast guitar" is the response / immediacy of the sound emitting.
I suppose what gives you such a pleasure with new guitar and easier playing to be the setup as mentioned, but also what it is being named "pulsation" on the foro. To my understanding the most deciding factor for tactile sensation and plucking characteristics.

Repeatedly seeing medium tension recommended here and from classical players too, I must really try what used to appear too sluggish to me once. Could be last time I tried ( long ago ) discontent was rather due to that tension in conjunction with the pulsation of the guitar.
