To explain "my experince": I started with an Aparicio AA40F which was perfect for the first steps as it had a good setup and an authentic sound, but there was no tonal spectrum i could make use of. No matter how I hit the strings, it was always the same sound. My second guitar was a HSL Bulerias. Great value for the money and a wonderfully sounding guitar. The comfort was even better than on my Aparicio, but after 3 years of playing, 3 years of trying other great guitars I wanted to experience an entirely handmade luthier guitar. The week before last I got a 1979 Ramirez Blanca and it is a whole new world I have to explore. The tonal spectrum has thousands of new doors for me to open that I never had access to on my Sanchis and the feeling of an old flamenco guitar is just wonderful. Each step was like revealing another secret [:D] And yes, rogeliocan, motivation probably is the most important aspect.
