Your Choice Sound

Hello ,

Just wondering what players feel is the sound they search for i.e a particular guitar model or strings or types of woods that effect the sound that they seek!!!

Does any one have any particular recordings they really like in reagards to sounds .

I love the sound Paco Pena has on Toques Flamenco (Any idea what guitar he uses?

I really enjoy the sound that Nino Ricardo and Sabicas have on almost all of their cds ?

Cheers Thom

Paco Pena uses Gerundino. Sabicas used a Ramirez blanca. Ricardo I can't remember the maker he plays in Rito y Geographia, but I am sure he used Esteso sometimes. Pohren mentioned how Ricardo hung out at the Conde shop. My favorite guitar recordings SOUND wise are Fantasia Flamenca (PdL), Jucal (Gerardo Nunez), and Cuchichi (Enrique del Melchor). Very natural sound, or a close mic. Perhaps it is no coincidence that it is a Conde for all these. Just my tastes.

Ricardo

Thankyou Ricardo,
I appreciate your response,

Yes I love those cds I have them as well , great news about the Conde (As I have just bought one!!!! ).

the Rito y Geographia is a brilliant series I love the sound Melchor gets especially when the rather attractive lady is sitting and listening by the couch and he is going for the player , excellent stuff.
Cheers T
