which Flamenco music would you like ...

Pick your Favourites Guitarists
And also you can write your preferences.

In my case, I would like:

Zapateado [Live] by Niño Ricardo
Bulerias Con Palma by Sabicas ( Lp Greatest Flamenco Guitarist Vol 1)
Guajira Flamenca by Paco De Lucia ( Lp Dos en stereo ( 1965 ))
Ole - Rumba by Paco De Lucia
Piñonate - Bulerias by Paco De Lucia
DemipaTi - Rumba by Vicente Amigo ( Cd Un momento en el Sonido)

most of the guys u wrote down are probably the most transcribed players in flamenco anyway.....so i picked the other ones...the ones that aren't that many transcriptions for...eg.. juan carlos romero, nino josele, jesus de rosario, ...etc...it alot eazyer to find any transcription of any of the guys you mention

but i am slowly doing my own list of transcribed falsetas i like...its a nice feeling when you did it and u know you one of only few that play it...this week a very nice and catchy solea por buleria falseta i always hear in cano roto stuff and always loved...always wanted to play

its funny u just started this thread..i was just transcribing some more now lol...

i hate it when find a falseta i like and its played by 2 guitars and in a different key ( as cano roto stuff usually is) and u have to find the important, base notes and a way to make it for one guitar and change it for the key u need

that's why sometimes when transcribing a cano roto falseta for 2 guitars i only take the general melody and idea and change it for me and the key i need..

this is the one i was looking at today http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=160777&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1

This is a little help for transcribers like: Joseph Trotter, Alain Faucher, Claude Worms, Juan de la Matta, Berges etc.

Maybe some of they would decide
to transcribe your favourite Flamenco music.
We never know

P.S. My English is bad, I Know

I think the most useful transcription really would be not the falsetas, but different strumming formulas for the basic rhythms.

Look at Tomatito's bulerias. He can play so many different variations on just marking the compas. Falsetas, well many falsetas can be figured out by ear by slowing down the music, and also there is a melody there to follow. But the rasgueado patters of the right hand are almost impossible to figure out clearly, as we all witnessed with the "what is Tomatito doing here" thread. Numerous instructional videos focus mostly on falsetas like the encuentro series, I think only the Oscar Herrero Solea and Alegria series gives in depth variations for rhythm guitar, and flamenco is primarily a rhythm guitar approach to playing. I suppose they assume you already know that and everything becomes falseta oriented.

Just my two cents.

i agree....but why just basic rithms ?..i think any kind of rithm, scale, cierre, arpeggio u like and wanna be playing

edit...i am probably reading u too literally, u probably dont mean just basic rithm, just rithm in general, and i agree

Hey,

yeah exactly guys I mean the whole rhythm side of playing. When I was working with my teacher that was my first question. I said listen, screw the falsetas man, I can figure them out with tabs or by ear, I just need you to show me like 5 bulerias rhythms I can play between falsetas etc...

Obviously, his reaction was "you are asking the right questions man."

exactly, that is the secret to a good bulerias...the rithm, screw the falsetas...anyone can play em and if anyone skipped ahead too much or didnt focus on rithm practice enough not very good...but if u did u can play any simple crappy falseta...and if u got good rithm it will be a good buleria with a good feel that sounds the way a buleria should

also if u got poor rithm even if you copy the falsetas brilliantly just like in the cd people would have already made their mind up before you even get to reach the falseta....takes about 3 or 4 compases of rithm to decide and hears how much attention someone has paid to it IMO

Hi,

I may like to see transcriptions of various pieces, but are you going to do
the transcriptions? Otherwise what is the reasonale for voting?

I would be happy to have the transcription of Granaina "Don Cortes Maya"
from Rafael Cortes. I'd argue it's the best Granaina ever composed.
See
Anyone will try?

I don't think transcribed rhythm is very useful IMHO, maybe it's just me but I pick it up a lot easier from video/audio or when someone shows me slowly. With a pure transcription, it just drives me crazy.

ok i know what u mean...i dont mean written down rithm that someone else transcribed...trying to read it on paper gives me a headache too....i mean you actually sitting down with the slow recording and transcribing it and repeating it a million times...
