Hey people, i would love to learn Plaza De Arenal by Gerardo Nunez from CALIMA . If anyone can send me the tab that'd save me alot of time. Thanks in advance
I have been working some of it out by slowing the track down to half speed on windows media player, and have filled in a few of the gaps in the tabbed sections off that website, but not sure how to send it... I don't have any tab writing software or a scanner!
If anyone has any suggestions for how to write and share tabs, or if they have a copy to share, I'd be interested.
I tried having a go at tabbing this but Mark Indigo is right. That page has most of the piece on it. The encuentro book and DVD has the blazing alzapua falseta explained slowly. After that I think there is only one untabbed falseta on the track. Suerte
i have about half of this tabbed, 4 pages scanned in, but cannot get to upload, says it's not supported - they are scanned and saved as jpeg images - anyone?
RE: plaza de arenal tab?? (in reply to mark indigo)
Thanks for trying to upload this. Im looking forward to trying it out. To reduce the file size you need to reduce the image quality. Open the JPG in photoshop then "save as" something else like solxbulweb.jpg reduce the quality size to below 600 kb (normally around 6 or 7) before closing the file

i don't seem to have "photoshop", had to open with "picture manager", and do "compress file" - "web page" was still too big, and "email" too small, but "document" seems to be working ok
RE: plaza de arenal tab?? (in reply to mark indigo)
i think that must have been where i got stuck, the next bit continues the arpegio pattern on a B7 chord, but i couldn't work it out exactly to write it down - there is a version tabbed on here
(11th row down, "Sol p bul plaza de A", click on the column on the right hand side where it says "new!" page 2, 2nd line)
but either Gerardo taught a slightly simplified version, or Peter simplified it a bit when he learnt it, or he simplified it a bit when he wrote it down....

Gerardo simplified it a lot for the second class, and even the advanced class. I forced him to teach that part where you are stuck years ago and got the real thing, but he did not seem happy to show it since only I seemed to be learning it. It was a long time ago, but I got it.
The idea with the arps was you keep the bass line on the beat and can improvise the arps with the fingers. He never does it twice the same exact. In class he showed it only as pami straight so we would get the idea.
The hard part is when it changes keys to E phrygian.
