pulgar shredding

Tomatito is hailed as one of the masters of pulgar technique.

Do you have any effective exercise to build strength, flexibility and speed of the pulgar? Let's try making exercises simple because i think gypsies like him don't really complicate technique with too much scientific explanations

The Encuentro book with Gerardo Nunez has great exercizes and the video shows it very well too. It was there that I first saw how important the wrist is.

I try to copy the way Gerardo shows in the video as best I can and it works for me.

A simple pulgar exercise (rest stroke thumb, not alzapua) is to simply play the Villa Lobos arpeggio study in Em, but use all rest stroke thumb.
