I have been reading posts on this forum for quite a while, but I think this is my first post.
I am going to Andalucia for two weeks from September 26 - October 11. It will be my first visit to Spain is quite a while. I lived in Islas Canarias for a year in the mid 90's and spent 2-3 months traveling the peninsula then. I saw some cool Flamenco at the Feria de Abril, and at La Carboneria in Sevilla during Semana Santa.
My wife and I are going to be in Sevilla for three nights (Sep 27-29), Cordoba for two nights (Sep 30-Oct 1), and Granada for two nights (Oct 2-3). Then we are going to drive around for a week and check out some small towns and the beach in Cadiz. I'm also planning on picking up a new guitar if I find one I like (I've been taking lessons and playing flamenco for five or six years now).
I am planning on checking out La Carboneria again for at least one night. Where else should I go to check out some good live Flamenco?
Thanks in advance for any and all help you all can give me.
RE: Where to see flamenco in Andalucia. (in reply to Kirk)
Hi, Kirk,
I think Val, one of the fellows on this forum, said there was a flamenco workshop in Almodovar del Rio near Malaga first week of October. You may want to contact her and ask, as I just did a search and can't seem to find her post.
