Alain Faucher

Finally got around to crossing his palm with silver (ok Euros). Ordered monday, arrived thursday, so prompt service.

My choice "Cipres" Quique Paredes. There has been some discussion about him on here recently so I'd thought I'd have a crack.

Great choice! Don't forget to watch Ron's video of him performing the first part of that piece. It was only a "hair" away from sounding exactly like the original.

I've found Ron's version on You Tube. It is good, and I've found out what I was doing wrong. By concentrating on rhythm & melody I had completely ignored hairstyle.

THANKS VERY MUCH.

I dont have this album and its impossible to find. Its not in any of the online libraries either. The link that Mark posted has a vinyl copy for sale at 55 euros. Thats way too much money. Its annoying that such great recordings get deleted.
I was very happy when I found a good copy of Paco Ceperos "Amuleto" last year.

PS. I dont want to sound ungrateful but could you possibly upload it again at a greater bit rate than 128 kb/s. Since this is the only copy currently available it would be nice to hear it properly. You lose a lot of quality once you put this through proper speakers.
192 minimum would be great and preferably 224 kb/s

Sorry if this is a problem but I have really wanted this album for a couple of years now and who knows, maybe i will make some tabs for you.

RE: Alain Faucher (in reply to xirdneH_imiJ

why does faucher have tabs on his site that are only available as a free tab when you buy 3 or more tabs?????

I dont really expect anyone to have a definite answer just wanted to air a little grievance! I want to BUY silia y el tiempo (Vicentes Farruca) from him but its only available for free if i buy 3 tabs!!!

RE: Alain Faucher (in reply to Stu

maybe if enough of us email him and harass him enough he'll change his policy....

i think it's just to make an incentive to spend money, 'cos he had some financial trouble recently, he used to be the only place for flamencotabs, but now there are all the official books, and downloads, sharing etc. so he has a lot of competition now

but he could just charge more for his latest tabs and less for his older tabs

When I ordered from him, he sent a catalogue that included stuff taht was not on his website ( thats what he said in teh e-mail). Thats not going to do business any good

The reason for his secrecy, under the table offeres, or "free deals" could be because of copyright permissions trouble. Just a guess of course, but that was an issue in the past.

RE: Alain Faucher (in reply to Martin

its regarding copyright, as he never offered PDLs tab a fewe year back, but then he sent me a list of most pieces by paco.

hes done an amazing job it really exposes a lot of music to us .

a few players get into the argument that some of the transcriptions aint perfect , but we are probably not perfect at out work either!!

hes sure transcribed a lot, and new release is cool from him

Stu,

I would bet it's a copyright thing too.

I have the Herzog book, it's in there in standard notation and tab. I have learned 3 things from it so far, the notation and tab are excellent.

email me at anthony at agarciaguitar dot com and I will send it to you.
