RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread - mor... (in reply to HemeolaMan)
Hola Sobrino! You just made it six pages But it's easy - just go to page 1 of this thread - all the rules are in the first post because Doit updates them every time there's a new decision.
I think you'll be a great judge, because you are already a fine musician with good analytical skills.
You'll need to have some time free on 2/3 June - can you spare some time then?
I've only just seen this thread and thanks for thinking of me. I need to learn some new material and this would be a difficult challenge for me so I'm going to sign up to play and see how it goes. Yikes!
The actual challenger list is as follows: Jonc Jim Opfer Edgar marrow3 ToddK c xirdneH_imiJ Güiro Duende Florian <--- X1 Ricardo John O. Pimientito bursche Doitsujin
Oley! Great challengers!
X1: cowardly pussy who canceled. (pls come back in and flash us with a good performance!

Dear Challengers!
Around 53 days left before the deadline. If you didn´t start learning the alegria till now, you should think about start learning it in the next future.
I´m still not done with the piece. It still has some tricky parts which make me a little headache. But I will solve these problems in time. I hope you are also working on it and no more cowards cancel..
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread - mor... (in reply to HemeolaMan)
We have 6 weeks left for practicing!
I don´t know how far you (other challengers) come so far..but I hope I get shocked by excellent uploads. Man.. since I saw the "sock on hands playing thread" I realized that I have to practice harder for the challenges because the playing was very good even with socks on the hands.
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread - mor... (in reply to Doitsujin)
I'm very sorry, but I think I'm not going to send anything in, because I've not even started learning La Ardila.
I had enough to work on the Alegría by Vicente. Another new piece would have destroyed my efforts on other pieces, because I need so much time for not becoming worse at playing "Maestro Sanlúcar" and "Trafalgar" - These are so damn hard!
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread - mor... (in reply to HemeolaMan)
Im curious who will chancel too, so close to the deadline. When they realize that la ardila is a way above their current skills they chancel. There was and still is enough time. So,.. have to learn other things first doesn´t count for me. Do what you want, it´s no must to send something in. Remember it must not be perfect. The challenge is to work on it in order to become better. Just send in your current playing till the deadline. Thats it.. You must not play it like tomatito.. But whoever decided to join should at first think if the required level is reachable for you. I mean, we have also an intermediate thread. So if you join, keep your word and hang in there! For the future please don´t promise what you cant keep. Well,.. at least the people who chancel should take how this lesson.
I hope I am not the only one who records the piece and send it in..
Please hang in! Go for it man! It should be fun and no preasure, you can learn it beside of any other tings. It must not be perfect... the journey is the reward.
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread - mor... (in reply to Doitsujin)
argh.. page 7, i'm stick trying to get down these fives and sixes in the rhythm. It is a bit touch and go with completing this in time and in compas at 165 bpm...
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread - mor... (in reply to HemeolaMan)
Hello there folks, bunch a chickens hahahaaaa.
Well I have the whole thing memorized but not like the video. I came in late so I have been working extra hard at it but it is sounding good I think.
Sounds like Todd is out, come on Dude this stuff is easy for you.
Well thank god I have a strong thumb, it came in handy with this one.
I have been going back and fourth between slow and uhhh the 164 yes playing it at the slow one but there is one month left to get the speed up rite Doit.
Anyway thanks for the Challenge I can't wait to upload my version. I have already recorded one version and it's not to bad.

Hey guys!
I was in the mood to write some completely redundant comments.. So,.. we have around 5 weeks to go!
Tic tac tic tac! hehe.. Anymore cowards?
Here an important lesson about discipline which was posted in another thread before. It hopefully helps and prevents further cop-outs from canceling. You know,.. it causes to lose face the closer we are to the deadline.
Please give all now! Practice harder than you can for the last couple of weeks! ;.)
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread (in reply to HemeolaMan)
Don ´t worry... I can´t play the composition either.. I am happy if I am not on the last place... (where I will be). But the rules are clear and I will record the truth just as it is. I think I got a lot better while practicing this alegria. So the challenge brought me further and fulfilled its sense! But the alegria is really far out of my abilities. Im not even close. Well,.. as I wrote before : the journey is the reward. I am happyly waiting for really good contributions from other challengers! Man, I love this alegrias and its pure fun to hear it in different versions!
RE: Challenge, Advanced Thread (in reply to Doitsujin)
I think I'm going to have to drop out of this challenge. I've got 6 compositions that I am being paid to learn for gigs in the next 5 weeks and I cant really afford to devote the extra time to memorising and performing this piece. Todd is right about the difficulty level as well...its is seriously advanced.
I am putting my crash helmet on now to ready myself for the inevitable tomato throwing in my general direction.
