RE: Is this a tribute to Pat Metheny? (in reply to Wannabee)

Wannabee, It is a tribute. About 1994 or 1996, Vicente did a tour of Mexico, and being in San Diego allowed myself and a couple others to see him in Mexicali and Tijuana. I asked him a little about Pat Metheny, and he gestured that he loved Pa. A friend of mine read an interview where Vicente also stated that he really likes Michael Stearn and other steel string players, sort of new-age greats if I remember correctly. Pat Metheny is really a genius, and although he doesn't play flamenco, his knowledge of the guitar and music in general is tremendous. If you are interested, check out: 1) One Quiet Night 2) Beyond the Missouri Sky These two CDs give you a taste of his playing, with minimal other instrumentation, they are nothing short of gorgeous. -Anthony
