Could you post a link to the material with its spec? Then Rafa can get that. People can use what they want. .010” is too thin, IMO, but whatever. Stringsbymail… I did not give that info because he was specifically looking IN SPAIN, where that material is not measured in inches anyway. There is a chance the measure they give is off, however, it is VERY thick, or rather just as thick as what standard Conde’s and Valencia guitars use by comparison. You can see my uses of it in this thread: http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=78861&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=golpeador%2Cremoval&tmode=&smode=&s=#78861 Perhaps you can or can’t tell by the pics how thick it is (the cordoba pics are perhaps better to compare, second change on page 2), by I can attest whatever they are selling it is the same as what was on there already that I had beaten through since 1997 or so. I did the math and it is 11 million plus golpes, approx every 7 years or so (not 6 months lol! And you can see it was various instruments. I have guitars not played much I will never change). I remember they used to say “.45mm”, so I don’t really know if their thickness is correct. https://www.stringsbymail.com/tapplate-golpeadore-clear-010-inches-8-x-8-inches-1156.html

Stringsbymail… I did not give that info because he was specifically looking IN SPAIN, where that material is not measured in inches anyway. There is a chance the measure they give is off, however, it is VERY thick, or rather just as thick… I suspect the material you received was 3M stuff, but perhaps a different thickness. I bought a bunch of sheets from them, too, and used it on a few guitars. I stopped because the material was both too thin for my purposes and also felt a little soft. I think sometimes the needs of a player and a maker don’t always align because the maker has to compete and meet expectations both reasonable and otherwise. What I found with the thinner material was to me it looked a little too lacking in presence (almost like there was no golpeador in certain lights) plus I brought a couple of guitars to Spain with golpeadors using that material and I noticed at least one player kind of looked at it funny (I know, sounds silly). So I stopped using it. 3M stuff… I just measured a piece of the 3M stuff and it came out to 0.009” so maybe I had a bad batch (or it’s different than what you received, as 0.45mm is way thicker, that’s 0.017”). The LMI material I now use measures out at 0.012”. Not sure if they still sell it but it’s pretty good. It’s what I’ve been using for some time now. LMI stuff… Just to confuse the matter, I grabbed a golpeador that I removed from a guitar I made about ten years ago and it was using material I picked up in Spain, I think it was sourced from the Alice person. It’s nice and clear and hard and sounds good. It also makes a liar out of me because it’s only .010”, so the material itself matters. I would get more of that stuff if I could remember where I got it. At any rate, if Rafa sends me his address and the postage doesn’t cost me too much I’ll send him a blank sheet of the 3M stuff, along with a pre-cut sheet. I doubt I’ll ever use it again but it should suit his purposes. BUT, if Rafa is intending to use it in the manner I suspect he does, which is to put a golpeador onto a classical guitar, then I caution that the string height at the bridge matters. Because if the strings are too high and Ricardo happens to get his hands on the guitar and plays it, well, there’s a chance that he’ll hand back something that looks like Tom Cruise’s face in the last quarter of pretty well every movie he’s ever made… Guitar with high action after the Ricardo treatment… Tom Cruise’s face…
