Tomatito concert last night in Boston!

Had the great fortune of seeing Tomatito last night in Boston. Amazing concert and such great performers. Look forward to seeing them again next time they are in town. This was apparently their first performance here.

Very cool. I am so jealous. I emailed Tomatito's contact inquiring about whether he would be coming to Canada anytime soon, and I was told that it was just not economically viable for him and his group to make the trek from Europe just for one or two shows. I hate to say this, but now that the Maestro is gone, perhaps Tomatito will have to tour more to spread the flamenco gospel. Could use some great flamenco shows here in Canada, it has been a long and cold winter. What was Tomatito's set like?

He had a wide range of forms but followed the program (definitely a few bulerias and por bulerias). A couple pieces were pretty much solo but he also has 2 other guitarists. Fantastic duo of singers and the percussionist was solid but primarily used the cajon. The dancer was spectacular but would have loved to see her in more of the tunes.

They did not have an intermission but this was a Sunday evening concert. I was okay with no intermission

Saw it in LA, agree not enough of La Paloma, she ripped my face off with that footwork, made machine guns jealous.

Yep, when it comes to baile it's all about the footwork -- the more like a machine gun the better!!
