my rant of the year

The internet is 80% junk.
Searching flamenco guitar videos for the last month, the majority is crap, either poor/incomplete instruction or just not flamenco. Let alone having to see countless videos of 'what it's face'... bla bla bla bla bla bla....

And that is not just YouTube it is everywhere. Too much info is like not enough information, too much work to weed out the junk and in the end you just give up.

We need to move up to Web 5.0, where all noise and **** gets filtered out and sent to a secondary web that I don't care to have the address.

I guess the keyword is filtering, for now, a filter to cut some stuff out would be nice, hell it would be nice on this foro!

I think I was being an optimist when I said 80% is junk.
There, I am sure this is nothing new, but it's annoying.
And I feel better now. Well, not really.

how long did it take you to notice that the internet is 80% junk? ...since it has been mainstream since at least the 90's...

And who is going to justify what is classed , or not classed , as junk ?....like one mans junk ...etc etc ....
I got a like or 2 on my youtube channel ....but as you know its pretty bad flamenco I produce ...

Still I'm pleased you got it out of your system ...is that it for this year ?

Escribano will write a black box that will do that automatically.

Maybe when I log, the damn thing will send me to the crap internet!!!

Morante, that stays on the good web because it is nice. And very related to the thread as he is signing about how pissed he is at the junk on the web.

I think it could be much worse.
Sometimes I can´t believe my eyes when I make a search, but often times finding what I need will work alright.

[ Like today. Wanted to know what´s up with Tomatos that are partially white inside. Turned out that to occure when they had too much heat ( in the greenhouse ).
Took me maybe 2 minutes to get the info.]

Did you know that there are refined ways of searching the internet?
I have no clue myself ( other than using " or + at times), but those who do, are way more efficient in internet research than us uninfromed.

And I am pleased with how the foro is. - After all being of the strays myself.
If you like it circumsized, check out delcamp.

Some information about Macandé.

There is a little book, written by Cobos. Difficult to find.

Angel de Alora's interpretation in Rito y Geografia was inspiring as well. Why young talented cantaores (y cantaoras) don't try more creative things with fandangos is beyond me when the scope for beauty and variation is so broad....only rumbas and bulerias these days. Boring. So we look backwards I guess...

I got it. The answer is: Meta Data.
With every post (applies to this foro too actually), the poster tags his reply that defines the type, obvious ones that come to mind and keep it simple, (subject related), (irrelevant comment), (comic remark), and the ever so popular (insulting remark).

Then viewers would choose to focus on (subject related), or anything else to see the complete content. That right there would reduce the web content to 1% of it's size. I know... users would pick the wrong categories, but the owner of the thread or content could clean it up.

Anyways, since this won't happen, I could rate it as both (subject) because it is possible, and (irrelevant comment) since it won't happen.... ahhh nothing is simple.

Youtube thinks it knows what you want based on collecting information about your previous viewing.

Using the most advanced algorithms known to man and implemented by teams of top programmers it is able to recommend to me personally a non stop slurry of horrible generic twaddle.

Amazon too......Bert Weedon's play in a day anyone ?

But that doesn't matter at all count me in.

Rogeliocan feel free to label all my post as annoying or faux pas. In fact why not go the whole hog ? Lets have a 'T1t' label.

D.

And yes Kiko I know thats not how you spell xxx

Instead of whining about crappy side of the web, why not compile good material by yourself or in a community like this?
Anyway many people like what you, me or we consider as crap. They're crappy

I'm developing a music learning app...

If you could have the perfect flamenco guitar site, what would it be like?

It would be like a patient middle aged man with a guitar and a lifetime of experience facing me with my guitar, either in my home or his or in a bar. He would play real slow with perfect compas. Then patiently he would listen to my attempts to copy him and without ever dropping a beat he would repeat again the bits I had fluffed.

There might be the odd nugget of advice but as I don't speak Spanish it would be just for support.

It would in fact be a lot like this but a few hundred miles south.

I also would be delighted by a Kindle book of Akira Seta's complete transcriptions, notation only NO TAB.
