Opening up

Greetings All,
So i finally recieved the replacement for my guitar that had a crack down the back spine http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=227294&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1
and could not be happier. The question i have is about a guitar opening up. What does that exactly mean and how does that happen. I practice daily and would think this would speed uo the process? ANy info would be greatly appreciated.

Best ~

So long as it doesn't open up like the first one, you'll be ok...

"Opening up" has to do with how your instrument develops its tone or voice. The wood in your instrument has to get use to idea of being an instrument. Playing your instrument every day certainly will speed that process along.

We don't know why but it will sound better after being played for a while, maybe beginning in a few weeks and increasing over years.
