I have bought a couple of his lessons. They are good and he definately has skills and knows what he is talking about. His lessons come with no score or tab.(Except maybe the Buleria I think) They go very slowly and tell you each fingering so the tab isn't necessary really. The only problem with the lessons that I see are that he can almost never get through even a short phrase without stopping to explain some minor detail. This is great in explaining but sometimes you just need an easy place to hear at least a full 12 count to know what you are supposed to play. This can easily be fixed by having the full example seperate from the lesson.

He is an unbelievable player. I just don't get why he isn't more well known.

I've done a few of his online lessons, the only beef I have is technical--the sound is pretty awful, very strong 60hz hum, like bad mic wires or something.

I just logged on again and it looks like he's added tabs in PDF form for other lessons as well. Cool. They didn't used to be there, should help to keep the learner focused.

Yes, it is modern. He explains how modern and traditional are different and he tries to stay away from too traditional(like playing on every contra).

It has lots of Compas patterns and falsettas so you will stay busy for awhile.

I kind of got unmotivated on it when I enrolled. I got frustrated with the constant stopping and repeating(sometimes different or losing his place) and searching again and again for the place he plays it through. It took so long to get through a phrase, I honestly could not remember how it sounded by the time he got through. Again the TABS will help with this. You can print them and jot down the comments over them. I think I'll give it a go again, I have made progress since then and may do better. Once you enroll, you can always come back for free.

Oh, another thing I thought was annoying is his rhythm machine. It is cool to hear it to rhythm but it is so loud it is difficult for the untrained ear to pick out what is happening when.

Not perfect but definately worth it.

Interesting what he says in the arpeggio video - that the attack should be purely nail and not flesh + nail, which seems to go against what pretty much everyone else says. Yet his tone is really good, of course.

Munin,
I agree. He kinks his wrist a lot too when he plays picado.
I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat...
