A-String Help

User Error-Guitar Issue-Mech Tuner Problem-Plain Stupidity

Brand new A strings keep braking (hannabach medium tension flamenco 827), I set my tuner at 440 and tune the new string, After I finish practicing I put the guitar up and when I open the case again the A string is broken.

Can someone help me ID the problem?

Where is the exact location of the string breakage? If it's by the nut or saddle, you may have a sharp edge that's cutting at the string.

Is down by the saddle, it's like the string has a lot of tension.

Loosen the string and see if the saddle is rounded on top. Check the tie block for a sharp edge where the string goes into the string hole and wraps around the tie block.

Thanks for the reply, inspected everything looks good and now it broke on top.
I have had this guitar for 3 years and never broke any strings, in 24 hours I had 3 A strings pop.

Try and upload some photos of the HEADSTOCK complete with nut and the BRIDGE complete with how you tie the strings. Did you ever alter the saddle? Is the case made to fit? Strings will just decide they have had enough, but for this many to go, it indicates something is up - maybe even a bad batch of strings - but this seems almost impossible for what you are going through.

Lacing up the strings (I come from the Reel to Reel era) on classical is completely different to electric. Steel strings don't like being wound on top of each other and they tend to slice through the string if you do this by mistake. My eye sight is not so good and it's easy for me to break and steel string if I don't watch what I'm doing.

Seems unlikely you are doing anything wrong, but put some pictures up.
