Golpe nail problem

Hi,

I use glue on my nails, which I like, but the problem is the a finger nail when doing golpe (using nail and flesh), the nail will regularly break. I tried to enhance with silk bits to make it stronger, but still it doesn´t help.

Any suggestions?

Shorten and widen the nail (i.e. do NOT make it pointy, if it is). Also, vary the angle of contact of the "a" nail with the guitar's top (golpeadore-protected, of course) to make it include more flesh, rather than purely nail. Also, you can do golpes with "a" and "m" to distribute the force of contact along a greater surface area, thus decreasing the pressure per nail (and hence the force, hopefully translating into less nail breaking). You can also use three fingers (middle, ring, and PINKY) to do golpes. This last way takes some getting used to, but it sounds good too (I'm working on it, seeing as the little finger has become my latest obsession).

Cheers!

Thanks for the advice,

I think I´ll go with reshaping the nail just a bit, it might do it.
