Adding to my Falseta Library

For the past few months I have been practicing only my techniques and metronome playing.

I decided I need to increase my falseta library so that I can actually play more than 30 minutes of interesting material. (I am getting tired of playing the same material with some variations publicly around friends and watchers. (They of course don't know that but I want to change things up, I play for myself not for other people but still)

I am looking for things such as solea, alegrias, bulerias, granainas, tangos, pretty much anything I guess.

So just list your recommendations of falsetas that you think I should learn. Nothing advanced, just intermediate and beginner stuff. (Preferably intermediate)

Hello,

I think it is difficult to give recommendations because the falsetas we choose to learn are often a mixture of falsetas we like and falsetas that sound appropriate to our skill level. This is how I have approached it anyway. I am not sure there are many must learn falsetas, but there are some classic falsetas that most people start with. You should do research and listen to many cante and older solo recordings. At that point you can embark on the weird journey of learning things by ear a bit by slowing down recordings and or purchasing tab books and hunting for instructional videos that come with tabs etc...

Not sure this has helped much, but I hope this makes sense!

I'm afraid it's not working this way on this forum! Most of thePeople in here are professionals, people who paid time&money to gain what they know. They are also so modest when it comes to giving advices but the tips&tricks, the written materials, the taste of what you like to learn, are things that you should do on your own costs!!

There are some falsetas in the swap area though. Check them out. But like I said, you have to find the falsetas you like and make it happen for yourself. Of course, if you can find a good teacher that changes everything!

crobson, if you're wondering why you didn't get a response initially, there are two possibilities:

1) We're all unfriendly and crusty.
2) It's tough to respond to "I want falsetas in any style that are either beginner or intermediate." I mean, I can teach you every falseta I know that isn't advanced, but that would take a while!

Why not give us some examples of falsetas you like, or pick a palo or two you really want to learn something in, and we'll see what we can do? It's not a bad idea to post that in the swap shop (link in my last post) which is pretty much built for falseta requests (well, trades - so don't be shy to post a falseta in return, even if you think it's basic!).

Another very good idea is to pick out a falseta you like and want to learn - if you want something lower level, maybe try something a bit older/more traditional (though obviously those guys played some monster falsetas, and there are some plenty of good beginner/intermediate level falsetas in modern recordings!) - and then either search for tabs, or post it to the tabs section and ask if someone else has tabs for it.

Why somebody should ask people in here to email him with falsetas if he can easily get it from the tab section by himself?!!

I simply meant with what i wrote is that i'm not sending materials that i paid for supposing that it's good materials since it costs money, to someone i dunno what is his musical taste just because he ASKED to send any to his email, THANKS!

And Yes.. Most of the users in here are professional players and performers or player with good musical record and not ALL of them

You guys need to chill, its not like I was asking for thing you PAID for. There are plenty of resources with free videos tabs etc, I was simply asking for suggestions on things to learn AND if possible a tab. I am not asking for video lessons or your paid material, I am looking for videos or some audio clips which I can slow down and learn from...

Dude, if you don't want to help the guy out that's fine, but that's definitely not true about a lot of other people here. I just objected to this blanket statement that we don't share falsetas here and make people learn flamenco "at their own cost." Come on, we're a community here and that's just plain unfriendly.

And define "most"? As in, more than 50%? Hell, I doubt more than 20% (if that) of active users here are anywhere near professional (as in, play flamenco for a living).

Not that any of this matters, of course.

Here or online in general. and who am i to behave in unfriendly way when my posts here are not reaching even 10!! I'll help anyone if i can exactly as i'm being helped by every fantastic user in here. Seems that the language was understood the wrong way& if you believe that users here are not that professional, i guess this is my humble opinion after reading tons of posts that discus every single detail in specific about almost EVERYTHING from the construction of the instrument to the use of it with singers and dancers and more..

Please accept my apologies if MY LANGUAGE sounded flat or cold. It was not my intention to piss anybody off

We seem to have disagreements about language and statistics. This is difficult to overcome, but alas, I will reconcile with you because this is a friendly forum, one bounteous in falsetas and good will.
