banus guitars

ok - here's a challenge. I bought a guitar in Athens 2 years ago - as a holiday knock about- the man in the shop said it was spanish made. Sounded quite sweet for the price (130 euros) and it's solid enough - it has a truss rod, spruce or pine top and laminate rosewood back and sides, the bridge is glued and screwed on - I know this as a screw came lose within a day and that nice man in the shop screwed it back on!. It has a very high saddle but low enough action, similar to an old taiwanese guitar I once owned. Can anybody help find out where it was made (country, manufacturer etc)? I'm just curious but I hate not knowing about my own guitars - it's probably chinese! Anyway it's a 'Banus' model scg-08 - all info welcome.

It might be a Jorge Banus Lopez Flamenco Guitar, which was made in Mexico.

Nothing that fancy I fear - I think the name comes from Puerto banus near malaga - but I don't think that's where it's made - a lot of guitars from the far east take Spanish sounding names - maybe I'm wrong.

If it has "Benetuser" on the label as well then it may be from Valenecia as there were guitar makers there called
Banus and Ibañez

I've never heard of Banus guitars before - I can't remember any recent mentions of them on the forum - what are the chances of two threads popping up regarding these guitars within hours of eachother????
