RE: Pao ferro (in reply to Dikoha

Hi,

recently i played on a Hnos. Sanchis Lopez from a Friend, which was made of Pau Ferro (Model Bulerias). I really really liked it. The sound is comparable to Indian Palisanto (but maybe with a little more attack), but the sound is of course still "Negra". But i personally prefer this Model OVER the "normal" Negras i tried from the Brothers. I specially liked the Sound of the Basses. Very full and strong but at the same time not dull. Also the guitar is not so heavy as the Negras. I also like the Look of Pau Ferro, but thats not so important for me as for others maybe.

Also Paco played on a Conde from Pau Ferro. Maybe you know that.

There is also a Member here (Maximilian) who own this same Model which i described.

IMO an extremely good guitar for the price (if you like this type of sound and guitar - i.e. Madrid School, Conde Type Sound and Feel)

You get an idea here:

Regarding Sanchis, I would agree the pau ferro sounds really good. Less bassy then either the brazillian or indian rosewood guitars I have played from them. In that sense, since I like midrangy blancas better, I would prefer the pau ferro to the other negras for sure. Also I like the lighter color of the wood.
