RE: Foro Flamenco Instruction CD (in reply to Guest

I like the idea, but how would we go about creating the content without simultaneously making it available on the foro? Perhaps it doesn't matter, if the format is right. We could build it around the instruction section of the foro.. but sell it in a convenient format. Stuff that you can have in the guitar case and refer to etc.

The ideas you have sound quite good. I'm all for utilitarian stuff, and analysis that gets under the hood of things. Stuff that opens new doors.

Google Wave would be a great colab tool to do this.

My teachers, when singers were not round, arranged cante melodies as falsetas. They played the melody as a falseta and then the melody with harmony as a falseta. Then they played the melody again and let you accompany. This has its limitations of course but one can begin to hear the cante structure and some of the harmonies that go with the cantes.

One dancer made me arrange the "tiri ti tan tran tran" melody once i played single notes with accompanying chords.
When i started with dance i was such a "pet boy", doing everything what they wanted tststs uncool.

Community, collaboration...uncool?

Doing everything what the dancer wants is not really "collaboration". If you dont have sado-masochistic tendencies that is.
But please go on with the thread its a good idea. I just had a flashback because of your comment.
