Mediterranean Sundance(intro) "...

Peruvian guitarrists Riber Ore and Jorge Aldana perform this cover by PDL. I thought it was very good. The one on the left is Riber.

They have the technique. But the rendition has some weird-sounding bits...

It's not 100 percent accurate of course, but overall it was good.

Great technique/picados. But some weird things happening with the rhythm in the intro. They just slow down in the middle of phrases for no apparent reason.
But somehow, they do it in tandem, which is beyond puzzling.

They sound like classical players. Its just not quite swingin' like it needs to be.

Especially in the rumba strums. Just goes to show, these pieces seem like picado showcases, and that if you have a great picado, you're all set, but there's alot more to it.
Its about rhythm, and accents, and countless intangibles.

Anway, i wish my picados were at that level now. I have a long way to go.

Todd, you are right about them being classical players. I think they also play alot of Peruvian folk music and musica andina.(music from the Andes) Not bad though for being non-flamenco players. It still needed a bit more I thought as well.

That's some i-a-i-a-i-a picado by Enrique, now, right?

Deniz, that's not fair. It's Cerreduela. Great performance. As I was watching, I was getting pumped and wanted to join them.
