Proffessional Transcriptions

Advice sought. What do you think the best way would be to publish professional transcriptions of well known Flamenco pieces by the likes of Sabicas, Nino Ricardo, Paco Pena' PDL etc. These transcriptions are extremely accurate and done by a professional guitarist and teacher who has played worldwide with the likes of Paco Pena' and Sanlucar. He has 30+ years of work in these transcriptions that include duets etc.
Surely there must be some members on here who has done something similar. Do you think its best to arrange for regular book publishing or do you think offerring internet downloads though a website is better? I worry about the security of this option though, although it is a faster go-to-market.
We are talking about several hundred complete pieces here.
Any advice appreciated.

you also have to license your transcriptions. otherwise you will be hit with lawsuits.

There are good and bad sides for each of your choices:

-Internet downloads will be available for the world wild, so if you're gonna charge for the book many people might buy it through the web from different cities which is better, but also your book might get hacked into some hours.

-if you publish it at a market, that would be more secure but just the interested musicians in your city will buy it i.e limited number of people related to the city you're living in .

Lot of money and time put in to doing it "right". Look at Faucher, Encuentro, PDL transcription series, Claude Worms, etc. Not much return. Faucher still does better "under the table" am sure. Spanish owned publishers not so easy to release stuff as in USA for transcriptions. Lawsuits unlikely for such a small genre and obscure composers. My advice is keep it under the table like Faucher.
