Moreno y Castro guitars

Hola

A retired professional guitarist from Cádiz is selling his guitar. It is a cypress/cedar flamenco, 1983 by Moreno y Castro. I remember being in his house and playing this guitar: he told me it had been made in the workshop of Anchangel.

I do not know this maker: can anyone shed any light?

Moreno y Castro guitars came about as a result of a relatively short-lived partnership formed by Arturo Sanzano Moreno and Mariano Tezanos Castro in the early 1980s. They had both formerly worked for Ramirez, as did Tezanos' father, Mariano Tezanos Martin...yes, he of the famed "M.T." foot stamp that hardcore Ramirez aficionados get all teary-eyed over.
The Moreno y Castro partnership only lasted a few years and I doubt that there is any connection to the Arcangel Fernandez shop. Other makers, like Juan Alvarez Gil and Pedro Contreras Valbuena, made guitars for Arcangel's shop, but I don't think that these two guys did.

Many thanks Charles: I thought someone would recognize these names. The construction of the guitar certainly recalls the solidity of Ramirez and the Ramirez connection is much more believeable.
