C. Vega -> RE: Moreno y Castro guitars (Oct. 31 2007 23:11:34)

Moreno y Castro guitars came about as a result of a relatively short-lived partnership formed by Arturo Sanzano Moreno and Mariano Tezanos Castro in the early 1980s. They had both formerly worked for Ramirez, as did Tezanos' father, Mariano Tezanos Martin...yes, he of the famed "M.T." foot stamp that hardcore Ramirez aficionados get all teary-eyed over. The Moreno y Castro partnership only lasted a few years and I doubt that there is any connection to the Arcangel Fernandez shop. Other makers, like Juan Alvarez Gil and Pedro Contreras Valbuena, made guitars for Arcangel's shop, but I don't think that these two guys did.
