Gerardo Workshop in Sanlucar

Hello everyone,

I don't know if I'm mistaken or not, but is the Gerardo workshop / masterclass that people constantly talk about held in Sanlucar? I can't seem to find the threads that mention it (either I'm an idiot, or the search feature in the foro is bad). I think it is the one that is 9 days long and for about 300 Euros. The one that Ricardo has taken numerous photos of himself playing at (where there are about 40 or so students, and that if I recall, some foro members said that one cannot learn a lot from it, but it is an enjoyable experience). Did you know the one I'm talking about? It's the one that takes place in the summer. If you figured out what I'm talking about, can you please fill me in on the exact details? I am trying to attend this year (because I have medical research to conduct in Tarragona from July 1 to July 31, and I might be able to go to this workshop if possible time/date-wise). Please let me know about all the information/details.

THANKS

Here ya go

I'm going. First time I'll been there. EXCITED! I imagine hanging around for 9 days with a load of flamenco artists will give anyone enough to learn from!!!

Hey John,

I just checked the link. It says from 16 to 21 July. So that's 6 days. Why do you say 9 (I thought that it was 9 days long also ... I think I read that in some post on the foro. But apparently it's not)? Did you register for the repetition classes with Tino Vandersman? I don't really know if I can cut off my research for 6 days ... I'm supposed to be working from July 1 to 31. I guess I won't be able to show up. We'll see what happens in the end ...

How can I know if there are some places left (if I end up deciding to register)? How long in advance do I have to make the bank transfer (if I end up deciding to register)? Do I need to know Spanish? Where will I stay for the time of the curso?

Please let me know.

I'm staying over both weekends from the 13th to the 22nd

Took the repitition as well. My Spanish is horrible, but we're learning music and not literature. The fact that the web site is in English as well as Spanish makes me think they're not expecting only Spanish speakers.

As to the other questions it'd probably be best to write an email to info@cursoflamenco.com
