2 negras

Just some color experiments:

A 2A with Mahogany and Padauk back and sides, which is a bit different...

And a 1A with East indian Roesewood back and sides and mahogany bindings which IMHO is very elegant.

There are more photos in the classifieds section and on my blog and videos in the classifieds section and on the Instrument for sale page of my blog.

The mahogany binding is a really nice touch. Some of the nicest binding I've seen for a while.

Good to see the negras are nitro finished. I might be alone but I prefer to French Polish, I'm always worried about dinging FP guitars!

I really like the 'mosaic tile' (is that right?) rosette for the 2A negra as well.

Great work as usual Anders.

That's some beautiful Rosewood, where do you get it?
Any video?, Id like to hear how it sounds.

Encanto your questions pinpoint the extreme possibilities, but there is lots of ground in between. Tonewood qualities are like flavors, and a luthier is like a cook.

Mahogany is a legitimate tonewood with a long history.

Thanks for your kind replys. Its highly appreciated.

Tonewood choice in the flamenco world is very conservative, so few experiments are being made.
With respect of guitar sound, the soundboard and what has been done to it is 80% or more, and the back of the guitar is far more important than the sides. These are just my observations and can of course be discussed.
#124 has a lot more Padauk than mahogany in the back.

I hand picked it in the mastergrade stack in Madinter/Madrid some 7 - 8 years ago. I have later on bought on the internet and have received the same quality.

Very pretty guitars, Anders. I'm working on a blanca with Mahogany bindings now. Unusual but beautiful choice, I swear I started it before I saw yours

Spruce/cypress blancas with medium brown bindings, bridge and parts of rosette can be very pretty. Especially when they age and the soundboard gets more ambar colored.

I´ve made a handfull, but with pau ferro bindings.

You can make purflings with white and medium brown as well. Very stylish (and medium brown)
